1971 Original 240Z For Sale
Thanks for the kind words guys. Yes there certainly is a lot of interest in the car when I pull up on a sales call, especially the ones I make to the automotive type businesses. Unfortunately, its very hard to cart large boxes of printed t-shirts etc. around in her so she's got to go. I still have the 260 project car so I won't be z'less altogether, just have to find the time to work on it that's all.

1971 Original 240Z For Sale
After much deliberation I have decided to sell my 1971 240Z. The car is pretty much original except for the 260 wheels and an immobiliser. It currently has a newly rebuild L26 engine in it but I do have the original engine (with matching numbers) that will be sold with the car. Early last year I installed new Tokico shocks (non-adjustable) and Hyperthane bushes all round. The car is Datsun 'Gold' and has two very small rust holes at the bottom of the drivers door. I was recently quoted AU$400 to have them metal-filled. There is also a small bump in the bonnet where the previous owner closed it but left a socket on the rocker cover. Other than that the car is SOLID. Check out the photo's in my gallery. I am looking for offers between AU$8,000 and AU$10,000. My reason for selling is that now I have my own business I need a vehicle more suited to sales calls and deliveries. I really don't want to sell but needs must prevail. Please PM me if you are interested.

260Z Rolling Shell and Spares For Sale
The 2+2 parts I kept from my old car were ones that are compatible with the two seater project (except for the hatch that was in really good condition). I don't want to part out the project car because I don't have the time or the inclination really and going that way, you always end up with a pile of odd bits that no-one wants. Sorry about that. Thanks for the interest though.

260Z Rolling Shell and Spares For Sale
I am selling my project car if anyone is interested. It is a 1977 260. It has an L28, N42 in the engine bay and I have a spare L26 (not the original) to go with it. The car is fully dismantled (except for the running gear, engine/gearbox, and brakes). The body is fair for the age of the car and has been 50% stripped of paint, but has a little surface rust owing to it being kept outside under a tarp for the last few months (and despite being saturated with WD40) and the panels are in very good condition. All of the smaller parts are individually bagged and the dismantling process was photographed extensively, I will supply the digital photos on disk if anyone buys. In addition to the spare engine there are heaps of extra parts that came from a spares car. I want AUS$1,000 (no offers) for it but with a little patience you could probably recover the cost by selling of the extra spares of which there are too many to list here but include a hood, a 2+2 hatch, a new radiator (actually off an HSV but modified for the Z), bumper bars, etc. etc. I am in Mount Annan, South West of Sydney. Chhers,

Stripping a Z
I'm stripping thw 260 with chemical stripper. This was a budget based decision as to have it media blasted was going to cost me >AUS2K. It's nowhere near as painful as I was led to believe and I retain control.

Firmer Ride or What
There is a link in one of the earlier posts on this thread to the Courtesy Nissan website which is where I ordered the bushings from. I got the Tokico shocks from e-bay, but didn't change the springs. In case you missed the link here it is again: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CP&Product_Code=7-18101G Regards, Nigel

Home Remedies
1. If you are choking on an ice cube, don't panic. Simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat and presto! The blockage will be almost instantly removed. 2. Clumsy? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while you chop away. 3. Avoid arguments with the missus about lifting the toilet seat by simply going in the sink. 4. High blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a while, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. 5. A mousetrap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep when you hit the snooze button. 6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough. 7. Have a bad toothache? Hit your thumb with a hammer, then you will forget about the toothache. Sometimes we Just Need to Remember What The Rules of Life Really Are... You need only two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. The five most essential words for a healthy, vital relationship are "I apologize" and "You are right." Everyone seems normal until you get to know them. If You Woke up Breathing, Congratulations! You have another chance!

Blonde Joke
I hope this hasn't been posted already: A blonde, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire herself out as a handy-woman and started canvassing a nearby well-to-do neighborhood. She went to the front door of the first house, and asked the owner if he had any odd jobs for her to do. "Well, you can paint my porch," he said, "How much will you charge me?" The blonde, after looking about, responded, "How about $50?" The man agreed and told her that the paint and other materials that she might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does she realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?" The man replied, "She should; she was standing on it. Do you think she's dumb?" "No. I guess I'm guilty of being influenced by all the 'dumb blonde' joke emails we've been receiving." A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money. "You're finished already?" the husband asked. "Yes," the blonde replied, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats." Impressed, the man reached into his pocket for the $50.00 and handed it to her. "And by the way," the blonde added, "it's not a Porch, it's a Lexus."

I have a centre console out of a 260 available. It is in pretty good condition apart from the obligatory crack next to the choke lever. PM me if you would like to know more.

Banned on Ebay
Maybe Mike could look into getting official endorsement from Nissan to use the logo for club purposes only. I run a promotional merchanidise business and I will not print any trade mark without a letter from the owner of that trademark (or their representative) giving me approval to procede with the print run. If Mike was able to get such approval I would be happy to manufacture a range of merchandise for the club at a good price, perhaps even from some of the fantastic artwork that our own members have submitted over the years. Over to you Mike ...

Question for the Ozies
I went to look at my '71 240 about three days after the paper was published and I was the first enquiry, after some negotiations and a rego inspection which took a few days there had still been no other interest. This car was (and is) in excellent condition. On the other I have gone to look at dogs that the owners 'claim' people have been falling over. I think there are too many variables. Nigel

Value of Second Hand Parts
Thought I'd fly this up the flagpole and see who salutes. As many of you would know, I am currently parting out my 2+2. One of the difficulties of such an exercise is knowing what to ask for the various bits and pieces. I don't want to rip people off but by the same account, I don't want to be ripped off either. Would there be any value in having an area among the club pages where members could log the prices paid for spares along with a simple condition descriptor so that when we go to buy or sell stuff we are paying/asking a fair price. Submitted for discussion.

Automatic or Manual
I've had both and they're both bloody fast. I really like the "kick down" in autos and you can't beat an auto for Sydney City driving. However, being a manual fan from way back I prefer them for a number of reasons. If you're looking for a z my advice would be grab what you can as long as it is in good condition, don't knock back an immacualte car just because it is an auto (or vice versa depending on your preference). You can always change later which a very easy process. Good luck!

L26 Bargain
I have an L26 that I am getting rid of. Here's the deal you pick it up (I am not prepared to organise delivery) and leave me with a carton of Carlton Cold. This deal is on the understanding that the engine is taken "as seen". There is no warranty or come back of any sort and it is offered in good faith in the belief that it is a runner. I am getting rid of it because I need the space to operate my promotional merchandise business (plug, plug).

Parting Out 2+2
You need to remove the "nospam" from the address, I put it there in the hope that it might avoid detection from the spam crawlers. I have e-mailed you with an alternative address anyway.

Parting Out 2+2
It is necessary for me to free up some space to start up my promotional merchandising business (plug, plug) and consequently I have decided to part out my 1974 2+2. I will be stripping as many of the useable parts as I can this weekend with a view to sending the carcass off to the scrap yard late next week. If anyone is after a particular part please let me know and we can negotiate.
