John broke something in the motor while running 3rd. Dr. David Kim took 5th in his 240Z and David Spillman had gearbox issues as mentioned above.

Well member David Spillman had a decent weekend in his newly purchased ITS 240Z. He won the ITS class PRO IT race Friday and took second overall to a ITR BMW. He was plagued with gearbox problems in the ARRC ITS race on Sat. but still finished. All in all not a bad weekend. Here is a shot from Friday nights PRO IT race. Sorry for the quality. It was very dark & overcast by the time the race started. This shot is at 1600 ISO!

Petez, On our 78 280Z we used Les @ Classic Datsuns paint.

Brian, Going back with the OEM white? On the front & rear windows the stuff I got from MSA worked fine. I think the door gaskets are more of an issue. Our '78 280Z doors fit tight ie & require slamming....I would email Les@classicdatsun or call him. I think for my 240Z I'll go OEM on the doors next time. Keep us informed I want to find a good shop for my 240Z repaint one day.

I'll be there Friday & Sat. I know member David Spillman is running his ITS 240Z as well as John Williams in his 240Z. I'll be shooting pics.

Xray there is a strong chance Greg will be running the #33 Z at the ARRC at Road ATL weekend of Nov. 9-11. John Williams 240Z is entered as well. Member David Spillman may be running his newly acquired 240Z too.

Thanks guys. I am hoping Greg enters #33 at the ARRC at Road ATL in a few weeks. Location scouting & getting familar with the tracks helps. VIR is one track I know where to shot from. Problem is alot of the races are short sprints and you can't move much because of limited time.

Member Greg Ira & Guy Marvin won both ECR races at VIR this weekend in Marvin's #33 240Z. They finished 5th overall & 1st in ITS in the first race & 1st overall & 1st in ITS in the second race. Here are a few pics I took. Greg also finished 3rd in a Datsun Roadster in the Prod Fest race.

Brian, Everything I have gotten from Les is top shelf. He has forgotten more about the 240Z than most of us will every know.

Les has the blue plastic interior pieces as well. I bought a whole set. As far as I know the carpets are black.

Les @ Classic Datsun has the blue seats.

Greg was running ahead of Don when he got together with the Triumph and spun to the back of the field. He ran well the rest of the way.

Thanks Xray. Sal told me that MSA had improved the fit. Now if the drone is gone it looks like a winner. Let us know. I really want to pop for one of the Stahl headers but it is just too $$$$. For a stock motor the Stahl header is available in a smaller diameter than 1 1/2".

I know MSA redesigned the header and exhaust. Let me know how it fits & performs. I have the older version on our 280Z. Exhaust required a muffler shop install help to get it to fit. There was a bad drone at 2500 rpms as well. I had to have a bullet muffler/resonator put in to help the drone. I need to replace the exhaust on my 71 240Z and might consider the new MSA design.
