Did anyone manage to track down one of these panels ? Has anyone posted any pictures of them in order to copy ? Thanks, Dave

Seat belt anchor bolt size
Talking about bolts, where can I get a list of correct bolt sizes/lengths for the 240Z ? I would like to order a set of new bolts for various parts and this would help. Is it worth replacing with stainless steel instead ?

original jute material
Andrew, yes I will be at Japfest but minus both my 240Z (who know when this will be ready ?) & 260Z (ready for collection in a couple of weeks). I should finish installing the rubber soundproofing soon so I'll take a picture when I've finished. I've finally been successful in posting the attachment ! Item 15 is described as 'Jute - Front Floor Rear'. What do yuo think ? Dave

original jute material
Andrew, exactly what I thought until I noticed a piece of jute (item 15) on microfiche section no. 113-4 ? I guess this was never actually used ? Perhap the US boys can shed some light when they wake up in the morning ! Dave PS. I started to insulate my Z with self-adhesive (500mm sq) rubber - looks great ! Soon be cutting the jute - any luck with the thicknesses ?

Steering Assembly/Bulkhead Gasket
What is the correct thickness of the rubber gasket between the steering assembly and the bulkhead. I need to fabricate one. Thanks, Dave

original jute material
Am I right to suggest that there is also a piece of jute underneath the diamond vinyl that sits behind the tool boxes ?

Various 240Z Items
I need the following to be sent to the UK for my Series 1: Outside hardware for electric antenna; 3x spare tire cover stoppers; tire stopper rubber belt; jack belt. I'll keep asking until I get 'em ! Thanks all, Dave

original jute material
Andrew, can you please confirm the thicknesses of the original jute. Is the thickness the same for the floors, tunnel and deck ? Thanks, Dave

Early Z Hatch Inner Panel
I've never seen one of these close up - mine was missing when I bought the car and there are not many of these in the UK. Can somebody please post a good photo and/or supply a dimensioned pattern please ? I presume that the surface finish is similar to that on the interior quarter panels ? Thanks.

Glove Box Doors
Well done to Ken. The emblem on the mystery door is upside down and for a RHD car. The 240Z emblem therefore always appears nearest to the passenger side window on all 240Z's whether they are LHD or RHD. However, the inside hinge plate is always the same with the tire presuure information instructions (silver label) on the right hand side in the lowered position. I can sleep easy now !

Glove Box Doors
Well done MikeW, but you're only half right in fact as the emblems actually both appear on the right hand side of the door. The total solution came to me in a blinding flash last night - a bit embarrasing really - still 'never be too afraid to ask' is my moto. So who can complete the mystery ? I'm afraid I have not got any prizes to send to the winner ! Better get back to work now (15.15pm in the UK). Dave

Japanese Parts Suppliers
Guess I asked for that ! Does anyone have any contacts with Japanese S/H Datsun parts suppliers - perhaps we could get hold of some rare parts from the home market ? Form a queue behind me in an orderly fashion !

Japanese Parts Suppliers
What's Japanese for Datsun 240Z ?

'Datsun' Fender Emblems
Were there ever any metal 'Datsun' fender emblems ? I've only ever seen plastic ones for sale.
-
Glove Box Doors
I have acquired two glove box doors. One has the 'Datsun 240Z' emblem on the top of the door and the other on the bottom. What is the correct one for the Series 1 and when did they change ? Seems strange why they did change them to me - why was this done ?

240Z Series 1 Tool Box Questions
Thanks for all your responses guy's. I presume the tool bag sits loose in the box behind the drivers (LHD) seat then ?

240Z Series 1 Tool Box Questions
Thought it was about time I joined in the forumagain so here it goes. All questions relate to the Series 1 240Z. 1. I can't find any drawings or pictures to show me how the tools fit in the tool boxes. What were the standard tools supplied and were there any additional options that could be specified ? 2. I think a set of spanners were supplied - how many and what are the sizes ? (has anyone got a spare set I could buy please ?) 3. How were the tools held in place inside the boxes ?

Tool Box Hinges
Set of good hinges wanted for the plastic tool boxes that are located benind the seats on a series 1 (1970) 240Z. All shipping costs to the UK paid by me of course.

Ash tray lid retaining screws....
Yep, got my eye on this. Good news about the antenna switch - another item crossed off the list. If only I could get my hands on an original 1970 parking light (double) switch plus a hand throttle knob......mmmmmmh, now wouldn't that be nice ! How about those 1980's Datsun (Bosch) fog lights sold for over $300 recently on Ebay - if only I could get my hands on a load of those I'd be rich !!!!!!! I'm going to settle for a pair of Cibie 'Airport' (rectanglar chromed bodied) fog's for around $90. They're new and they look good.
