So that wouldnt be to harsh to sandblast them? I had thought about that but wasnt sure how it would come out.

I had been lookin for awhile myself so i felt like i struck gold when i found these, my wife told me i was glowing. :classic:

Picked up a set of wheels of craigslist for $35! After emailing the guy to confirm size, bolt patter, offset and of course if they were actually only $35, I immediatley left work and drove to pick them up. They definitely need a little elbow grease but they are gonna clean up nice, they are 14x7. The one on the left is after some wet sanding and polishing. Any ideas about how to clean the mesh part?

Thanks for the info...my pics can be used as a what not to do. I was planning on putting on foam on the areas you mentioned but i am still aways from actually putting the fenders on. One more question...whats the best thing to use on the inside of the fender? I was thinking of just POR-15, but should i also use some sort of undercoating?

I have those seals and will do a test fit and take pics tonight to show how i think they are supposed to go on.

ya...i was gonna give the fronts a go, the only problem seemed to be pressing out the old bearings. i think i'll definitely take the rears somewhere to have them done. Thanks!

i'm not in a hurry to have it done, i just want to make sure its done right. can anyone recommend a shop in or around san jose?

Are there any detailed write-ups on installing front and rear wheel bearings? I have been putting this off for awhile because frankly i am a little intimidated for some reason.

I am going to be getting some 15x8 diamond pro series wheels for the time being and was wondering what backspacing would work best with zg flares, i was thinking 3 1/2 but i'm not sure. Thanks.

So i am gonna make my first attempt at painting and have the first of many questions. I have the front fenders, hood, bumper, etc... all off the car right now, should i leave these off and paint them all seperately or should i put them all back on the car before i paint?

Thanks, i finally got them apart...what a pain in the arse.

Am i missing something here? I took out the 4 bolts that i thought were holding them together but it still wont F@%ck!ng budge.

I have a fair amount of surface rust on roof, doors and hatch and figured i should probably take care of it before it gets any worse. I am not planning on having the car painted for several months so what is the best primer or surface protectant to use after i get the rust sanded off.
