  1. And here's one with the hood open
  2. Here's one from the rear.
  3. Well, I finally got a 240Z to add to my small collection of Z cars. I now have a 280ZX Turbo, a Race 260Z and a Rally 240Z :D I've attached some pics of the latest.
  4. Whereabouts or who in NZ is building your engine?
  5. Check HybirdZ.org for the best advice on a powerplant change. I'd personally go for an L28ET to get lots more power and it not cost anywhere near as much as a complete conversion. But if you're going to go the whole hog, as it were, a supercharged chev would haul some serious arse. Or stay with Nissan and RB26 the sucker, or Quad cam Nissan alloy V8 it. There's lots of options because of the large engine bay on a Z, but as I said at the start, your best bet would be to check out HybridZ

I think if you have to go all out on her, the best you could do would be what I'm probably going to do to my motorcycle, which is the Rising Sun Japanese war flag on it. I've done a basic version on your blank picture it looks kinda shite, but you get the idea.
  7. At the moment there's about 5 of us, as I see it, we're hardly causing problems, there may be the occaisional thread you enter that you don't care about, but surely that happens with alot of things? There's even been people complaining about humour in the humour section. Anyway my point is this, if you were to create another section on the forum devoted to other Datsuns, you'd cause further interference to things than you would with having the occaisional post to ignore, the 240K shares the powerplant and thusly alot of knowledge can be shared, I try and keep my 240K posts to a minimum as to avoid confrontation, but can you imagine a section devoted to "Other Datsuns" the range that would be covered is immense and I think you'd see a slither of all types creeping in and you would then be disturbed by numerous posts about 4cyl L series engines or A series. I think the best bet is to leave things "as is" and occaisionally have to close a window you're not really interested in. Some time in the future I'll be starting a classic Skylines website, it's a funds problem at the moment, which means when I get a job something will be set into motion when that time comes you'll be rid of the majority of the 240K related posts, BUT YOU WONT BE RID OF ME!!! LOL
  8. What I find amusing, is that the 1 small change makes it look like someone has seriously modified a Z car as opposed to slightly modified a 'vette. LOL
  9. The amount of time you spend trying to find out all the various info you'd need to evaluate such a figure, which in the end would probably not even work out vaguely close to the realistic time, would be better spent with a stopwatch and a straight piece of track. Just a thought.
  10. There's quite a few pages around on building a 3.1L stroker, which is what you're talking about with that combination Gav240z. It's just a matter of looking, here's a couple from a 2 second search. http://www.geocities.com/row4navy/engine.html http://zhome.com/rnt/3.1Cobb/3.1engine.htm I also found a really good one a few months ago but I musn't have bookmarked the sucker. Oh well.
  11. Does the POP in any way harm or change the cars behaviour? I have two brothers, 1 has a MkII 2.8 Supra, it pops on decell on occaision, you probably wouldn't notice it with a stock exhaust but he's running extractors then through a 2¼" pipe to a turbo flow exhaust and thus the pop is somewhat amplified. My other brother has an R32 RB20 Skyline with stock exh. manifold running a 2-3" pipe to a larger type muffler and he can make it pop on gear changes at the right revs and also slightly on decel. I like the pop. Unless it sounds too large or just plain WRONG I wouldn't be too worried about it, see what your specialist emission man says about it.
  12. You get caught with cut springs in NZ and your car will be slapped with the dreaded "PINK STICKER!" *insert dramatic music Basically means it's deemed unroadworthy and you have to get it completely checked out by I think it's either LTSA (Land Transport Safety Authority) or just a WoF (Warrant of Fitness) place otherwise it'll get impounded if you're caught again, I dont think you're even allowed to drive it from where you got Pink Stickered, I think it has to be towed, I've never personally been Pink Stickered so am unsure. I also believe in NZ now, any form of lowering must be certified as well as bollocksy things like fatter tires, it's just a big money making scheme by the government, ridiculous really. It'll pay to check you Aus State laws before you do anything to the springs.
