Getting my z home? (shipping)
Rust is rust man  Minor or not he should not say stuff like that under his description. It's just not being honest PERIOD. Quiet honestly man I think you could do better for a $1000.00 + shipping charges. Hopefully someone will save that 240Z though There is another one i saw on that website I listed that ran. Said it had a good motor and drivetrain but it does have rust however. If not anything major like rusted out rails, spare tire compartment, Front cowel area ect. ect. than i think it would be worth taking a look at. I'll go and track it down again and post the link here for you. Good luck John.

more noise after urethane mustache bar ?
I got all poly bushings on my 280Z with a 3.9 differential. Being its a bigger diff. and that it's got the polyurethane bushings I notice some gear noise which is normal but not to the point where it bothers me at all. Only thing that I noticed with it was that it would squeek when they would move during turns and small bumps. I went under my Z and sprayed them down with a synthetic lubricant from Valvoline and that eliminated the problem.

Getting my z home? (shipping)
Hello John, I too purchased my baby in Arizona. (Gilbert, AZ) I also bought my Z just going by photos and talking to the previous owner over the phone and through E-mail. I loved the car so much that I didn't care about taking chances. I know Z Cars and I also knew I had the funds to fix a problem if I had too. I got lucky and my Z was as beautiful in person as she was in the photos I didn't have to do anything major at all. Just basic routine stuff. She sure got a good home with me. I had it shipped to me here in Minnesota and I used Dependable Auto Shippers and was very happy with them. Not a nick on it There charge to me was in the 900.00 range and that was with the car ON TOP so other cars couldn't leak on it They also have like a satilite tracking so you can go on there web site and see where it's exact location is during travel. I did the "Terminal to Terminal" option but you will probably have to pay extra to have the "Door to Door" being yours doesn't run. Anyways I was a satisfied customer. Best of luck John.

Who makes this mirror?
You want them primed and painted. Just like you want your car primed and painted  I used the flat black (No glossy shine) Mine turned out awesome. It's your call Like Bambikiller240 suggested, you could do it the same color as the car if you want. I just loved the look of them in the flat black and if heaven forbid one does catch a rock chip, the flat black would be much easier to redo rather than trying to find a matching color for the car. My opinion. Here is picture of my beauty

Who makes this mirror?
2 years huh? I believe it  I remember back when I got my '77 Z the passenger side was missing the head. All that was there was the base. Previous owner told me that it came loose and he lost it on an on ramp doing about 80 MPH. DAMN lucky it didn't touch the car when it went sailing off. Would have left an ugly dent and scratch. I got lucky not long after I purchased my baby I came across a guy in New York that was selling a set off his parts car and they were it He sold them to me for the cost of shipping, had them all sanded and primed. All I had to do was give it a paint job and install it. Sweet deals like that rarely occure. Talk about luck

Who makes this mirror?
The ones Bambikiller240 is showing are the same kind I got on my 280Z. I really love them. They are not very easy to come across though.

Found a small leak today
yep, hopefully the problem is just the threads. I still have to take a closer look at it. Worse comes to worse I'll just get a new one. No big deal Got any recommendations on sealant tape??? The gear oil would disolve regular Teflon Tape correct??? Thanks again.

Found a small leak today
I happen to notice a spot on the floor where my Z parks. I jacked up the front and checked her out and it looks like it's seeping out of the reverse lamp switch right next to the fill plug. Has anyone here had this problem??? Does the switch have to be replaced with a new one or is it possible to put some kind of sealant on the threads and reinstall it??? Thanks in advance for your help.

Vibration at speed
"I will say that I love hard cornering, and had 3 track days last year. But I wouldn't call that abuse, and one would think the car could take that occasional stress." umm keep in mind this is a 32 year old part. Plus the half shaft, U Joints on ends of half shafts, bearings, ect. are some of the hardest working parts on the Z. I know it's not a cheap part but If I were you, I'd bite the bullet and just go with a new one. There are just some parts that aren't worth taking the risk going the used route on. Go new like your dad did with the other side yrs. ago and be done worrying about it I don't know how tight your budget is but thats just my thoughts.

Propeller Shaft Removal. Need Help
This is where pictures come in handy I think I know what your talking about. What are you trying to use to remove the bolts with??? If you got all the correct tools than it should be quiet easy. I got a set of those open end wrenches from Snap-On and on the other end it ratchets. Works excellent for those tight, hard to get at spots. :-) plain wrench will work to but is more of a pain in the a$$ good luck man. You'll get it done tonight

Possible 240z engines?
hmm. Well from what I've read on the 81-83 F54 is that it does have a little more torque and horsepower compared to earlier ones. It needed the extra torque and horsepower to haul the extra weight of the 280ZX. So putting an 81-83 L28 motor in an early Z that doesn't have the extra Luxurious heavy equipment can be considered a good performance upgrade for an earlier Z. Point is you can't go wrong with ANY L series motor. L24, L26, and L28 are all Awesome motors. Yes, you can do some research and swap parts from different yrs. like engines, heads, transmissions, rear ends ect. to help create some extra horsepower and torque but like I said before, the thing "prycey" should be the most concearned about is just taking his time finding a good Z with as little rust as possible (Very Important) and getting that well tuned and running good. Then he will have a strong, powerful running Z. Thats all that matters Even a stock Z is not in my opinion SLOW. I never have seen a Z that is SLOW unless they are not properly maintained.

Opinions on Removing Factory Grease...
As long as you clean all the old grease out, then go for it. Synthetic is far better no question. Sounds like your front end is coming along nicely

DeoxIT Who here has tried it??
