Garage floor paint Question
If your worried about the corners flipping up, or moving, then you CAN use adhesive where needed. They just say it's not required but you can use adhesive to secure it in place if it's a problem. This stuff in my opinion just makes more sence for me. my garage floor has some chips and cracks that paint would not hide. Plus this stuff I think would make your garage, or shop safer because it wouldn't be so darn slick. With this product, I might actually be able to drive my Z on ramps with out the damn ramps sliding forward. beandip, I too thought about that later last night, Worse case IF you do have to put a thin, square piece of wood under your jack stands that wouldn't be so bad. I personally don't have the time to degrease my floor and remove old oil spills and other contaminants like dust ect. to lay down paint and wait 7 days after painting before you can walk or drive on it.

Garage floor paint Question
http://www.allmats.com/site/439205/page/639085 Yep, comes in a roll. No adhesive needed. You can see for yourself by clicking the link I posted above. As for Jacks/Jack stands, It comes in 3 different grades. (Standard 0.55 thick, commercial .075 thick, and Industrial .085 thick) As far as I know It's suppose to rebound after being compressed. Like I said before, I haven't tried it yet myself Looks like you can get a sample of it before you buy it to test it out also. Can't do that with the paint. Like you said, once its on, it's on

Garage floor paint Question
Thats the beauty of those mats I posted above. Floor doesn't have to be PERFECTLY clean, no drying issues to worry about, ect. Plus, anyone else have the problem with there ramps sliding on the smooth garage floor when you try to drive up on them? I would think this stuff would solve that problem as well. I personally like the coin pattern Don't have to worry about your wife slippin and sliding on this stuff beandip

Garage floor paint Question
My opinion with "Garage Floor Paint" is that it does NOT work. It peels and flakes off over time and looks like crap. Especially when you work on your car like we do and are wheeling floor jacks around, Jack stands, ect. that scratch the hell out of it. I happen to come across this stuff http://www.allmats.com/site/439205/page/639085 Looks pretty nice but I haven't tried it yet.

78 280Z Troubles
The EGR Valve can be cleaned with a brush and compressed air. Try cleaning it first. Have you tried MSA? They should have an intake for your Z. Yeah, a plugged EGR and intake will make your motor run like crap

Basic Winter Storage Tips
Doesn't matter. The large temperature change from extream cold one day to more mild the next creates moisture. Kinda like when your cold beer can sweats on a hot day. It's the same effect INSIDE a gas tank with it half full. Sealed or not. You have to worry about this mostly when spring comes and it really starts to warm up.
-
Basic Winter Storage Tips
ahh. Yeah, thats true also but more importantly, if you don't put it away with a full tank, then you leave room for moisture and we all know that moisture in your gas tank is bad news

Basic Winter Storage Tips
millermatic, If your storing your car in a heated garage, then yes it's fine to leave it in with the battery diconnected. Many of us however don't have that luxury. I hope to though soon TomoHawk, I lost you after "I think the idea to FILL the tank before storing is a good one" ?????????

Basic Winter Storage Tips
exactly. Most cases the floor temp. wont be the same as the top of the battery. At least not in my Minnesota basement My concrete floor gets friggin cold during the winter months.

Basic Winter Storage Tips
Yep, I always wait until AFTER the first hard spring rain fall before I break her out in spring. As for the "battery on concrete" thing. Yeah, "It's not a problem provided the top of the battery is clean and free from wet or dried electrolyte and is the SAME TEMPERATURE as the floor". I don't screw around and take chances so I put mine on a piece of wood because my basement floor during the winter is pretty cold to the touch while the room temp. is much warmer. Thats just my opinion.

Basic Winter Storage Tips
Pretty simple and basic but thought I'd share how I do it. It's getting that time of year for us Z nuts that live in the cold climate that have to protect our Z's from the sloppy slushy salty roads Before I tuck my Z away in the garage for the long winter season, I double check all my fluid levels and condition, then I clean the exterior really good and give it a good wax job. Then I squirt oil into all my doors, hatch, and hood to protect it from moisture. I also make sure the gas tank is FULL, then I remove the battery for obvious reasons. Once they freeze, there junk. Then I put half a can of Sea Foam into the gas tank to stabilize the fuel. Then last but not least I install my dust cover After doing the above, I store my battery in my basement on a flat piece of wood because putting a car or deep cycle battery on a concrete floor is bad for them. During the winter months I put the battery in it to start it up and run it for a little while then take the battery out again about once or twice a month. Reason you want to do this is so the top half of the motor gets some lubrication. Anyway this is how I Winterize my Z every fall before the snow flies. Man the thought of cold and snow makes me cringe

True, manuals are lighter than a automatic and do make the Z much quicker. The car shouldn't be gutless though either even with an Auto Something as simple as a good tune up may solve the power robbing issue. Who knows when stuff like the fuel filter was last changed? One way to tell if your Transmission is in good shape: When you change your transmission fluid (and filter on an auto), check for any metal shavings. There should be VERY little to none. If you find a good amount, then I'd say it's a good excuse to convert it to a manual :) As far as the "How to" Do a search on this site as it's been explained in another thread. I agree though that 9 Grand is asking too much. The seller is obviously going by his personal feelings and not by the book value.
