  1. Thanks! Of course and now that I know I was able to find in shop manual.
  2. Thanks! Not really sure how that would work but more power to Datsun! I think I'll just leave it off and install some sort of standard nipple.
  3. Blue pipe I'm taking off my emissions and saw this. Seems important but I have no idea how important. It obviously needs to be attached somewhere...
  4. Goes on the intake manifold near the firewall. Mine broke off when I was trying to remove the short hose that attaches to this doohickey.
  5. Familiar with them, agree with both of your assessments of them
  6. I want to send my '72 Z some place to get restored. I would want this restoration to be top tier, probably leaning toward a near concours quality restoration. I've been around cars for a long time, but they have been older Alfa Romeos. I'm familiar with every stage of a restoration. I have restored a few myself, I have bought a few restored and I have an original, untouched car. I understand there can be a huge difference in pricing depending on how restored you'd like the car. I understand getting a perfect car can be double the price of a weekend show restoration. I also know that shops can really vary in what they consider quality. We have some great shops around here that could make the car beautiful but I'd like to send it somewhere that specializes in Z's that would know what is right and what is not so right. Any suggestions because I have no clue. I posted this on another forum and they suggested to try here. I live in Birmingham, AL Thanks, Tad Bailey
  7. Why would this be better than the deal Z Car Source has running now for their steering rack kit for $407.00? (Sorry for the long link) https://zcarsource.com/steering-rack-240z-260z-280z-70-78-new/?utm_source=Z+Car+Source&utm_campaign=df4f5bb556-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_02_07_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_e019922a90-df4f5bb556-28816032&mc_cid=df4f5bb556&mc_eid=2e500e7ede
  8. Well SteveJ, I am just now seeing this post... I live in Birmingham and only managed to make it to Cahaba Brewery Wednesday evening. Life is a balancing act and I am unbalanced at the moment when it comes to car stuff.. Hope y'all had fun. Tad
  9. I'm missing my drivers side and found this laying under the seat. It fit. My car was built 12/71
  10. Why don't you just order one and see if it works?
  11. Just to close this out, I have everything back together and working correctly. Simply a matter of getting all the wiring properly routed and cleaning up all the connectors. I'll tell you what though, it sure was easier 30 years ago to do all this under the dash diagnosis. Thanks
  12. Baby steps, Concentrated on the turn signal last night and was able to clean up the wiring and rid my car of the alligator clip? Blinkers working great! Still no brake lights, tested the switch and its working well, I have power to the switch so I'm sure its more creative wiring. I'm sure I'll get it working tonight. Previous owners always amaze me... Thanks,
  13. How about this? Brake light switch, 2 black wires coming off the switch. One black wire off the switch connects to the Green/Yellow wire and goes to the emergency flasher switch. The other black wire you can't really see is connected to the Green wire with the blue connectors and goes to the tail lights. The best part... a most excellent alligator clip goes to the T/S flasher and attaches with another alligator clip. Gotta love PO's.
  14. I've spent hours going over this, excellent work. I've also realized that with the European tail lights I have on my car it's wired a little differently which led to my confusion on the T/S Flasher and on top of that I've found some shady electrical work from previous owner(s).
  15. Okay, my wipers are now working but I still have no turn signals. It's got to be connection related since everything worked previously. I've just plugged and unplugged the various connections, double checked correct connections when I've been able to. Still confused about a correct wiring diagram, they all seem to show different wire colors for the T/S flasher relay among other electrical items connected to the turn signals.
