I was quoted $1100aud for an electric sunroof installed on my car with no drama a little less if I supply the steel cover. It is alot for a sunroof, but you get what you pay for I guess. The only problem I see is.. how am I going to find a new roof for my z? 2 seater z's are pretty expensive... even bad condition ones, around here. If I can find a roof and someone that will weld it on properly then ill go with this option.

Ok so my 260z has a sunroof but I really want that hardtop look and not the typical pop-up sunroof look on my car.. theres too much work involved in taking the roof skin off and putting a new one on so ive decided to install a steel sunroof system... which means that im going to have to make a large piece of metal or fibreglass and shape it to contour the roof curve, the only thing thats visible will be a thin rubber weather seal around the sunroof. The sunroof will most likely be electronic. So my question is.. what do you guys think of this idea? And has anyone done it before on a Z?

Thanks guys. i did a search and theres plenty of stuff there to keep me busy for a while. 240ZX nice setup, any problems with the seats at all or are they much better in both look and feel than the original seats? Any pics?

Ive found a few 240z models that some guy in jap put together. I think they look amazing. That red one has a custom front airdam that the guy made from putty.

Here is a little thing that I put together just to see how the car with the colour "Bloodorange" looks in different angles, I tried to match the colours as best I could but its almost impossible. Hopefully the owner of this car doesn't mind me using he's car as an example. If you guys want to see the fullsize image (which I recommend) I'll post them here, they are extremely good quality and look much better then these resized versions.

Thats a great idea can't wait to see it finished. I couldn't help myself I just had to edit something on the Z you just posted... I think I darkened the colour a bit too much though, also when I recently went to rare-spares to get myself new rubbers and a set of new door skins I saw some old skool eye-lids so I tried doing that to this pic, they look pretty mean.

Gav240z Ive used 6 before but I dont think there is much difference between the two. Just select the body of the car carefully and then once selected paste into a new layer then select the windows, lights, badges etc and delete them from the new layer, then go to Hue/Saturation and click the little box that says Colorize and set the Saturation to 50 and then just play around with the Hue tab to get your base colour, after doing that go to color balance and just play around with the settings there to get different colours. All the settings I just mentioned are under Image>Adjustments. I guess the quality of the image also helps make the colour change more "natural".

Sparco sells what they call universal base mounts, does this mean If I want to install sparco seats and they dont fit the mounts I can take out the original mounts in my 260z and install their mounts to make the seats fit? Heres the Link

Im thinking of getting some aftermarket seats also... but want brand new race style seats like either sparco, Saas, Monza etc... anything that I can get locally and something that fits without any major modifications. Does anyone know of any brands that fit in a z ?

I used the same method as drunkenmaster, a putty knife and a heat gun also helps... or you could try using a wire brush.

Im using Adobe Photoshop 7.... maybe I should do a tutorial using a Z as an example.
