  1. ... and because I live in Canada... I put a furnace in my shop before I started the car!
  2. I have a brass block for places I can access the rear of the welding location. Most of the time it is blind welds that you will be doing and those take practice and patience. Sometimes you will blow through and then it becomes a lesson in "stitching" the hole closed.
  3. Thanks for the pics!! I love that green... gives me encouragement to carry on! I like the air cleaner too!

But the army likes to send me into muddy fields at that time of year... if I'm not in Poland, Latvia, Ukraine or Mali by then... ... besides, i'd like to drive down to one in one of my Z's!
  5. Let me get my pretty dress on first...

Wish I could attend one of these one day...
  7. It was a lot of work coming up with a colour plan for the engine bay. A green car is not the easiest to work with in the engine bay so I decided to go bold. The valve cover chrome powder coated, cylinder head black, and the block red. Chrome powder coated oil pan, Red spark plug wires, chrome coated intake, black and red fittings everywhere. The engine bay will be painted body colour. Frame components powder coated satin black, red bushings. That's the plan anyways!...
  8. I doubt it ... I will make sure any pinholes and errors are given a nice coat of Fiberglas filler as well. Not taking any chances on water entry on any of my welds.
  9. Much work to do... this will get cleaned up before bodywork starts
  10. Some crappy welding and grinding for your amusement...
  11. Another package of goodies showed up! This will help finish the fuel rail setup nicely!
  12. Bad Dog make the connector part you are talking about. Not just the frame rail caps. It is the easiest option but does require a pre fab purchase... If you checked out my thread recently, (post 967) Grannyknot gave me some advice on building my own connecting plates between the front frame rails and the floor pain rails.... This might work for you too!
  13. Cool idea! (Inverse pun unintended)...
  14. Www.Baddogparts.com He has what your looking for...!
  15. Thanks Chas! Looking forward to each step as I go... How's the engine management system coming? .... I haven't forgotten about that either
  16. Forum is boosting my post count with double posts
  17. I was going to go cad but with the new engine scheme being chrome, red and black, I think stainless will look the best. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  18. Forum is doing funky things again...
  19. He has the MSA kit that extends the tabs on the transmission to create the throw height change, hence the short shifting. I have one in my 370Z
  20. Thanks for the reminder, I have that bookmarked somewhere... This is something I will look into later as I get more into rebuilding the late model 5 speed I have.
  21. Mocking up another patch piece. I know a lot of purists would rather see full panel replacements but parts are hard to get in Canada. Basically with exchange, shipping, duty and taxes the parts that cost $100 in the states are well over $200 when they arrive here a month later.... and I have a long list of parts that are going to be ordered that can't be fabbed so I have to "cut corners" () where I can!
  22. Do the 240 and 280 have different positions for the shifter too? I thought the 280 was a little farther forward than the 240?
