Cool! Should have known Hoover would have found a similar image! I have never seen one done inside the hood before that.

Love it or hate it... I don't care! I have wanted to do this to my hood since the first day I started this restoration! The Rising Sun image has a faded linen background which is perfect for the colour scheme of my car. The "dirty linen" background should also hide any dirt or engine grime pretty good too. I purchased the rights to the image last fall and finally got the image printed and installed last week. Looking forward to having this popped open over the engine bay at car shows!

Still working on the bodywork/blocking/sanding. Some cool new parts/surprises coming soon! The last of the exterior parts was ordered yesterday! On to the interior parts mayhem...

This factory restamp is a great panel. Much better fit than the Taiwan repro.

Some more of the car pretty much assembled. Just the lower valance and nacelles not attached.
  8. Beautiful work!
  9. Maybe they’ll bring the electric E Type Jag!
  10. Yup, I got suckered into buying a can too. What a waste.... HVLP guns are so easy to use and the results are better. Can't wait to see this project move into high gear!

My doors were off a bit as well, but a bit of gentle persuasion sorted them out. Maybe your fender was damaged in shipping or something? There is a huge amount of flex in them and maybe it was improperly handled or stored at the dealer.
  12. Well I haven’t been to Tehran, but I’ve been to Afghanistan, Panjwaii in Kandahar province. I have to say I preferred that over Toronto and yes I’ve been there many times! Bullets flying in both locations.... Having said that, people live there for reasons other than choice. Love both coasts and have spent time in every province except Manitoba, PEI and Newfoundland but have nothing bad to say about any of those places. All in all, Canada is the best place on earth to live and raise a family in a democratic nation of privilege. The downstairs neighbours give us a bit of fright now and then but I think they will grow out of it.
  13. I know an Aussie in the process of moving him and his huge Datto collection to Onterrible soon. Moving to Canada is such a commonwealth thing to do.... ask Harry and Meaghan!
  14. You had me until you said Toronto... the real Canada is out west....!

Bought mine in 2015 from Calgary warehouse. All stock in Canada is held there so yours should have been the same pile...

This one is for @grannyknot to show the factory fender restamp fit to the door. Pretty decent for no body work at all yet!

Driver door gap. Also, do these mirror holes look stock position?

I think I’m gonna stress about something else... this is too small a detail in the big scheme of things.
  21. Sounds like we need a pipeline from Alberta across the country.. so much environmental friendly/non-conflict oil available here and everyone wants to import from the middle east! Irving anyone? Sounds like we need a pipeline from Alberta down through the States.... Keystone sound familiar? All the same reasons as above PLUS the fact that more than half of our oil companies in Canada are owned by Americans. When will the world see that Alberta provides the cleanest, most efficient oil producing rigs in the world? With many of our oil companies owned by Indigenous peoples, the only opponents are the ones not sharing the wealth from other provinces! hmmmm..... maybe we need to blockade hydroelectric dams in Quebec or offshore rigs in the maritimes, neither of which pay a single dime in to national equalization payments!
