  2. Hi joe, I was in your situation a few months ago. I ended up buying the Z. It was the highlight of my senior year, even better than umm...well you know. Any how the two of us were having such fun (the Z and I). It was pure bliss. Crusing, getting looks, pulling chicks, and enjoying the drive. It was the perfect marrige of teenage misconception, and reality. Then one fine day my Z changed. I felt as if i had been stripped naked and made to stand ontop of my desk in all my classes for the rest of my life. Or like someone shaved every hair off my head and said I must take my prom pictures like that. I spun a bearing. Since that grim, dark, sadening day my Z has been in my garage looking for some love. I've given it all that I possibly can. But being in high school, and not having the support of my parent to bring her back to life has forced me to let her sit for nearly two months! This combined with many other variables of life has made me sad. Luckily my job at pizza hut has aided me in affording the rebuild of the engine. It is nearly complete. I have only to put studs in the head for the intake, exhaust, and fuel pump. What i'm trying to say is take into consideration the reality of owning an old car. I hope you are prepared to spend a large chunk of your monthly income on your ride. You willl! sorry for the length, isaac

  4. Swapping in a new cam could lower your torque curve, granted you get one with less valve over lap. It's not that difficult to swap the cams, but it you will need to do some work if you want it to last. You'll need new cam folowers, and possibly lash pads to correct the geometry. Maybe someone here can help you in setting up the valvetrain geometry if you tell the specs of you cam. Sorry for the ambiguity, but i'm still learning myself.
  5. Sweet and to the point. Item for sale = 1 e-31 cylinder head. Pic attached. All parts there. Cleaned by Ed Hale racing engines in Santee C.A. I would like to sell this baby for At least 50$, or trade it for a square port header (good condition) or some good lowering springs. Local transaction prefferable, but open to all offers. Hi everyone! I just want to share some of the beauty that I've been seeing on a daily basis here on spring break in La Paz.
  10. That show has done an injustice to Zs the world around. Therefore i will now develope an undying hatred for this show. If I watched tv, I'd watch this show to get pumped up to work out. It would make me mad!. J\k What a horrible thing to have happen to a Z though.

  15. Why us? Why does the world hate us because we are beautiful. we try to help, but all our actions are turned into something that they are not. They are interpreted in such a way that makes us look like the bad guys. We dont f u c k the world, the world f u c k s us.

Ok, I think I've got a good perception of what you all are saying. All of this great advice, combined with some reading of "The O'Riley Factor" has shed some new light on the situation. I am very very fortunate that I have a parent that is willing to pay for my education. I feel that having my education payed for is a once in a life time opportunity, that I know I would hate myself if I passed up. When I think of all the people that would give anything to be in my position, I almost feel like I should be slapping my self for even thinking twice about what to do. These factors have lead me to the conclusion that I will pour all my efforts into getting accepted to the University. I am would like to persue a major in Physics. It's a great platform from which I can choose a multitude of technical careers. This is a pivotal decision that will affect the rest of my life. Hearing all of your testimonies has helped to put the magnitude of this decision into perspective for me. Thank you all for your time and advice. EScanlon, Your advice has had the greatest influence upon my decision. Thanks you for taking time out of your day to reply to my little post. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated, and I don't know how to thank you enough. Now, only thing left to do is to get accepted. This is the easy part. Thank you everyone, Isaac.

Well everyone, I'm still a little undecided. :stupid: Ok, I'm really undecided. I think what I need to do is take a trip to the schools that I'm gunning for. Mabye durring spring break I'll make it to the schools. From what i've read, colleg sounds like alot of fun. There seems to be alot of talk of sex. This has intruiged me. I'm also anxious to stimulate my brain. No, not with drugs. I don't like those things, they ruined my family. I want to learn! But at the same time, i don't want to go through another 4 years of school!. I hate sitting down for 6 hours a day. I guess I'll just have to get used to it. Thanks for you input everyone. I'd still like to hear what everyone has to say, if they have anything to say. "a mind is a terrible thing to waste" Thanks Isaac
  19. I got if off easily. I had a little jack that i used to apply very little pressure to the bottom of the head. I poped right off. I't's at the shop being inspected right now. I hope they give me a good report.

arizona240z: You spent seven years in college? Dang, you must have had a heck of a time. Was it just the chick action, or did the learning stimulate your thoughts and make you want to learn more? I bet it was a mix if both. What did you major in? I'm assuming you graduated because you did spend seven years there. I plan on going to community college when I finish Wyotech just to learn more things about history and politics. I may even take some socioligy and physics. If i do decide to go to Hillsdale, I would major in Physics. Everything else is just pretty much social sciences.

Hi there everyone! I was just wondering if any one has attended a technical school such as uti or wyotech? I am trying to convince my parent to let me go to wyotech instead of Hillsdale college. The only reason I want to turn down a prestegious school like that is that I have an obsession with cars. I've been like this pretty much for as long as I can remember. I like school and learning thigs also, but not as much as I like cars. Naturally, after completion of wyotech's 12 program I would persue a career in the automotive field. That is if I'm not recruited by one of the manufacturer's. In which case, I will go on to the manufacturer specific training. So here is my question to you all. Has anyone gone to one of these types of schools, or taken this sort of path? Sincerely, -Isaac

Hey my parent flew in one of those in vietnam. He was a gunman. I'm not sure if that's the proper term, but that's what he did. He fired the weapons, and droped the payload. He got shot down though. Poor guy, he was a P.O.W. for nearly 7 years.

When my Z was running, I had to drive it a little faster than i would if i was in any other car. It just asks to be driven fast. I felt that that was what it was designed for. Also, I'm a rocker. I live in San Diego and am blessed to have one of the best music scenes in the country. We have so much music, that rocking is a must. There is something for everyone. The sad thing is that most don't know about it. What keeps the scene alive is the loyal few who are into it. Anyways, there is lots rock to keep me rocking for ever ane ever and ever. ROCK!

Well, i called around today. I got some quotes. 300$ was the norm for seats, guides, valve job, and a mill if necessary. I'm going to have to come up with some cash. I just spent 90$ on the complete gasket set from fel-pro. Man, cars are expensive. I just can't wait to drive my z again. Right now I'm driving a My parent's toyota prius. This thing has a 70 something horse engine. It's a drag to drive compared to the z. It does get 48 mpg though!
