  1. I like this flannel cover for indoors. Good choice?
  2. I'm sure you like your car cover. Do you remember the item number or should I just go to their website and put in 240Z? Thank you for any recommendations. Cliff
  3. I'm on my phone so not seeing the video. You appear to have put new boots on the choke cables. Maybe the wires are too short. If I remember right from the locking barrel at the ends it should measure 2" to hold down for the cable. When full choke is on it measures 1 1/4". Also feel the bottom and see if the nozzles are up or down. I'm just guessing at things that I've had trouble with. Good luck.
  4. It's the front one that has to be stacked right. Here's some shots of mine, hope this helps.
  5. Hopefully you can see from this picture I robbed of google. Give me a few minutes and I'll snap a pic of mine.
  6. This is what I'm talking about.
  7. Have you recently messed with the linkage in between the carbs? I had that happen when I took mine off and didn't reinstall those flats or stops in the right order. The ones with the screw and spring.
  8. Look at his pictures, you'll see those two to the right of the sending unit. One is supply the other return. I believe all the vent lines are on top of the tank. Click on the top "duffymahoney replied to a topic". Or just click that previous sentence's blue part.
  9. That's an alarm horn. My '77 had one of those too.
  10. Thanks Captain, that nailed it down. The junkyard car was a '77-'78, it had an N47 head. The blades looked exactly like his picture, well not exactly; about half the paint had flaked off. Now it makes sense that someone would pull the transmission off the wrecked car. Who wants a 4 speed.
  11. 100%! All the joy for me. Now I AM thinking of a dirt bike to trailer to the woods? KX125 would be perfect but I'd have a couple of beers and start showing off, then hit a tree.
  12. I always pulled the coil wire when I left one overnight but those days are over, no more one nighters at my age. I wish all cars were manual shift. That would cut out the smartphone/ unlimited minutes drivers that scare me. They're the reason I don't ride motors anymore. Probably for the best, I crashed a lot.
  13. Those came off a 280 that was standing on on its passenger's door. Someone had pulled the transmission at the junkyard and left it that way. It must have been a '75 or '76 but they were painted black. I've got them nice and clean and will try and put a coat of clear on today, rainy out now. Thanks for the info. Cliff
  14. I'm glad you brought that back up. That would be a great spot for a push button starter. Thank you! That's on my list of things to do. These cars are so easy to steal, I've heard.
  15. My guess would be a line up hole for the dash. Maybe stick a rod in there to move it into position? Another Z mystery.
  16. Quick walk downstairs to snap some pics. Same hole as the OP has and I can say for sure there's never been any switch there. It may be a good spot for a toggle switch but is more suited for a anti theft kill switch, it's a difficult location. And the blanks on the console in second picture.
  17. I can tell for sure in the morning but mine has the same hole. Most fog light switches were in one of the blanks next to the seat belt and rear defog light on the console under the radio. I'm not positive but will be in the morning.
  18. Bead blasted some small stuff, clear coat tomorrow.
  19. My name is Cliff and I'm an Interstate user. I've hit rock bottom and am using bungee cords daily. I have the courage to change the things I can and with your wisdom I now know the difference.
  20. There's another funky bend that I had trouble with. I used a 1/2" brass pex fitting to make the sharp bend.
  21. I thought all three screws had the coolant passage? If your's doesn't I'd plug the thermostat housing and take off that hardline that goes behind the head. They're just possible leaks IMHO.
  22. My 240's blades haven't rusted in 45 years so I believe you, always have. Like Honest Abe the vampire hunter. Since I have a half quart of matte from Eastwood I'll shoot them just to be safe and probably smoothe out the bead blasting I did to remove the black. I'm worried the spring underneath may rust in my garage.
  23. I've always read the stock exhaust manifolds were really good flowing. I think with ceramic coat it'll cut way down the heat they hold. That's the biggest difference I've noticed with msa ceramic headers I have. Way cooler under the hood and within 15 minutes you can touch them without getting a burn blister. I think you are doing the right and best thing until you want a louder sound.
  24. Found this little baby too, $5.
