Turn Signals quit working -- need ideas to fix.
I made a mistake. The relay in the second picture is for the hazards. It's the other one. I took mine apart last night and cleaned the contacts. It works again (for now). I don't really trust it.

It's most likely the relay in dmoralesbello's second picture. I have the same problem with my '76. Sometimes they blink and sometimes they don't. The hazards work fine, though. My plan is to replace the relay.

sweatys rebuild
Good idea! I think you'll find that a good cooling setup. You won't need the second fan much. I actually took the fuse out when I was troubleshooting some alternator issues to reduce the load and never felt the need to put it back. Some day I'm going to put it on a thermostat.

Looks good. One thing you might want to consider.... In the last photo with the shroud installed I can see you have it bolted directly to the radiator. The lip on the top will be metal to metal and eventually will damage the radiator. Put some spacers in there. I made mine out of fuel tubing. You can see one in this photo:

MSA radiator/fan kit
I'll check. My car has a harmonic damper and a crank trigger wheel installed and there is enough room for that. The photo shows what I'm talking about.

MSA radiator/fan kit
Sorry, I don't know the answer to that one. My car is a 280z. If you want me to measure something let me know.

MSA radiator/fan kit
Looks similar to the one I have. It works fine but doesn't need both fans. I took the fuse out of one. When mounting it, make sure to put some rubber washers between the shroud and radiator. Otherwise the lip of the shroud will bottom out against the radiator and damage it.

280Z CL ad - funny to read, double-takes
$7K for a car that needs a motor? CL is kind of a dumping ground for used car dreamers. But hey, it'll be great for the track!

Are you forming all of those parts yourself? That's pretty impressive.

Tach Adapter
Has anyone had success with a tach amp and their stock tachometer? I have a '76 280z with an Electromotive XDi2 ignition. I ran the electromotive tach amp and my tach drops about below 1200 rpm and above 4000 rpm. Has anyone had success getting past this problem? This is an electronic issue with the amp confirmed by the electromotive technical rep not a loose wire problem.

Elusive 1978 280Z MC caps
I have MC caps with the level sensors. They are off the 15/16" ZX MC. I think it's an '81. I'm not using them.

Ken's 280z Resto Thread
Yes, yesterday. It's much better, but still feels a little stiff. I think I can live with it for now. I'm enjoying being able to drive the car. It kind of blows my mind that I actually got this far. There were a lot of times when it didn't seem like I would ever get it on the road again.

Ken's 280z Resto Thread
All: Thanks for the kind words. Since this type of project is never done.... I have a couple of things I could use some help with: 1). My dash lights stopped working. Coincidentally I changed the headlamps around the time they stopped working. I doubt that is related but I thought I'd give ALL of the information. None of the instrument lights work, the glove box light doesn't work but the map light does work. Any ideas? I must admit I have very little desire to disassemble the dash -what a pain! 2). My steering gets stiff when cornering aggressively. it feels like the rack is binding or something. The wheels turn freely near center. They also turn freely with the car jacked up. Can anyone shed any light on this. Takes a lot of the fun out of turning corners which this car is designed to do....

So here is a picture of the finished product. I guess I'm gonna have to find another project to keep me busy now.
