thanks drunken master, whats ur real name never got it from ya in prevous post easier to say ur real name rather than the nick etc yer im very excited about the car, cant wait to start working on it, but i can't do anything untill i sell the other car, and finish my exams, which won't be long etc, yes was orignal green, was very nice when i originally saw it before the prevous owner dismantled it, its orignally a country car, albury victoria to be exact, and been sitting for quite a while, basically needs new suspension, but no engine work which is good so i can get the car registerd so i can drive it around for a while before i make up my mind on engine possibiltys, people want me to stay stock, others want me to modify etc, but not sure what i want yet.

how did you grind the stuff off in the first place, with what type of disc and stuff for the grinder...

hey guys before putting the z back together, i want to have all new rubbers all round, ie weather stripping, to make it feel as new as possible.and look newer. were can i find a new kit, meaning seals for doors, windows, rear hatch and all that kinda stuff... in aus preferably thanks

sounds great.... its harsh when you got those cheap past owners who did the main things the cheaper way.. or backyard mecahnic style that you couldn't tell before buying the car etc... good you got that sorted, you'll find it will rev alot better now that it is balanced as well, but im sure you know what as you said it drives better etc

yer im also not sure about the deal with the rear round vents in the rear, this is original at the back so a 74 must be like that, i actaully havn't looked at what month it is i keep forgetting, i dont think the 240z got them... not sure why they are there in the 260z, you can't get to bolts thou them or anything pretty pointless, unless someone has the true story

yes gav, ill be needing your expertise, and cheap labour... haha.. but yer, hoping to sell the silvia soon and send it to the paint shop, should see the engine bay rails, and the battery tray, and also the front radiator support of how unmolested and how rust free it is... u'l love it gav.. hehe..

yer not sure about the wheel, just there to steer the car, got the orignal one coming, but will be getting a 240z one for the looks.. i thought the hard part is putting back togther... haha.. but yer its my summer project

Here it is just got it deliverd, i put the car cover over it and thats the way it will stay untill i get the rest of the bits in a couple of days, and i finish my exams etc... might look like it needs a bit of work, but no rust, and non accident car, and i got the full interoir coming in a few days, so a small bit of panel beating and off to the paint shop, for a red spray , best place to start with a rust free shell of my own... now im so undecided about engine possibiltys....

Hey guys, within the next month or so, my new Z is going to go into the paint shop, its a 74 2 seater. The original color is green, currently its completly striped and in primer awaiting paint, Im undecided what color i want to go, the prevous owner painted the engine bay red, and i always wanted a Red Z, but should i stay the classic orignal paint scheme or go for the brighter Red, Ie its BMW Brillant Red is what i'll be going for if red, and the classic Jaguar green if i'm going green... what others opions on color choice, its not going to be a classic historic example etc etc but not sure if i should move away from the original color

here it is, weve all seen the 240-180sx, now see the 280zx-s13 all i gotta say is weird $^!#, and prolly cheaper than jap S13 front...

fav all time is BMW 507, next in line is 300SL gull wing. of course the fairlady 432

yer as you said drunken master, im scared that i'll buy one that is patched up in the wrong way... i got one lined up, thats why im asking that needs some TLC, but looks like a keeper, but not sure if its a good idea, as im 100% sure i'll be spending 50% more on it than what i would be if i bought one thats already done etc

hey guys, i've got a delima.. Once again i am looking for a Z car. 2 seater, i want a 75 or earlier i'm not sure if i want one that has a little bit of rust here and there, and needs a restore, meaning new suspension, respray, interoir etc etc, not a proper restore, but but something that will cost alot more in the end, but it will be mine etc, (hope you guys understand my point) or should i spend the money in the first place and get a Z that already has the work done to it, that is ready to go basically... maybe minor work needed but nothing that will take the car off the road for a few months etc my main point of this post is, people say many things about a car to get it sold, and i don't want to spend the money in the first place then a year down the track find rust comming up again and having to do what i wouldve done if i just bought a cheaper project in the first place... (hope you understand what i mean, ive been panel beating all day and am tired and flusted)

yer they arn't a bad car considering they are sr20de have a normal 90s nissan interior, IE a little bland, but the NXrs come with targa, and ABS, and with the 5spd they go surprisingly well, i just don;t like the look of the front lights, a mate of mine has one goes pretty well, but its not a turbo... datto-Zed: 200fwkw is going to be fun trying to find some traction while on boost, without braking gearboxes and joints....

hey was just looking at castlemain rod Shopweb site, and they have a conversion kit for the Rb30, or a 253/308 or a chev motor into the ol 240/260, i'm not sure of the price of this kit or what comes with it, id assume, engine mounts/modified sump etc, which would be of good quality and already engineerd etc. I have emailed them, but i havn't got a reply yet. Has anyone looked at this kit, or used it yet, as i think its quite new to there range. Thanks website is www.rodshop.com.au and are in castlemain, in victoria.

ashley, how does the motor go, as in power wise.... how does it feel etc.... compared to ur 6 with the mikunis

you can get catch cans from any performance shop ranging from 50-250 for quality ones even autobahn sell them for around 70 bucks... you can make one urself, for under $40, check www.turbophile.com for intructions under articles.....

theres one for sale in melbourne, for 4k that is rusted and need full restoration, its the 2nd ive seen in 5 years for sale, so if you'd want it you should grab it no matter the price... it was on ebay.com.au, it was also in the melbourne tradingpost....

I had a 260z 2 seater with a freash rebuilt L26, 260z 5spd, 3.9 rear, 240z Su's, extractors and exhaust, 280zx ignition i keept with v6 5spds, and burnt all v6 auto's no problem, burnt Vl 5ltrs, and other cars of that area, cept for the turbo's of corse, beat Vl 3.ltr N/A autos and 5spd's... had alotaa fun in that car anyone got one for me they want to sell...

you can get any exhaust shop to install a oxygen sensor for a small price to have the flange welded in that is, without a O2 sensor, the car will run extremly rich on idle, and you will notic how much it drinks

i remember a year or so back, reading on hybridZ.org that a few guys have done it.... you need to grind it off bit by bit, and rewelding the part were you took it off bit by bit, so take a bit off weld it up, etc etc also they said it doesn't cause much trouble in the rain.... well thats what i remember, i might be wrong thou, they showed pictures... and i couldn't really tell the differance that much,
