Thinking of picking up a euro points dizzy from MSA
id like to definitely know how this effects your performance as well. this might be something i want to do with my 78 dizzy (get it reworked for those specs).

Help - Dropped parts into the front of my engine
if the oil pump is on the right tooth, piston is at TDC and the rotor in the dizzy is pointing at the #1 spark plug wire, and the mark on the pulley is on 0 or 10 degrees depending on your dizzy adjustment. then your got everything right with the oil pump. if its not pointing at #1 with the rotor while the mark is there and its at TDC then the oil pump is off a tooth or more.

High Amperage Reading
that seems to be because the alt simply has to provide more power to the battery to generally supply it with juice for the relays running straight from the battery? if i understand it right it would be the same as if you installed a huge bass sound system and when the bass hits hard the amp gauge or volt gauge will go up because if the system is hooked directly to the battery it would pull juice from the battery and the alt will then provide more power to the battery to charge it. am i correct?

280z Noise & Vibration .. Getting the Shaft
nice glad you figured it out. u-joints are evil. they always cause weird random noises when going out. i had one that was out in a truck i bought but you couldnt tell my moving it around, it didnt make any clunking but squeaked and had a grinding noise sometimes. i got under there tried moving it around and inspecting and couldnt find a thing, a month later it broke completely i got it replaced and i never ever heard those noises again.

High Amperage Reading
adding those relays change the circuit for those specific accessories but i dont see how they would effect the overall electrical system of the car. if you didnt add in a relay in the charging circuit i dont see how it would bypass the regulator, which would stop regulating the amp/volts to be put to the battery and over charge it. and im not to sure about this as im super tires right now and not thinking straight but i doubt any relays would bypass the regulator for any accessories and damage them as well. as for the amp gauge, my opinion is ive never really liked them, the volt gauge is more helpful to me. but the relays i guess could effect how the amp gauge is reading when those certain accessories are on and off.

i dont know what part of arizona that picture is from but it doesnt look like phoenix. it rained one night from 2am for a couple hours later and that was it. all it did was make small puddles and make it humid . i want to move to flagstaff or sedona on the original topic, i had those rims on my first 280z. their pretty slick if cleaned up nice. and all i know is that their mag wheels.

Tall Z enthusiast
alright im done with this. i already got a PM from an administrator and find this outrageously annoying and retarded. i get bashed for trying to help people by SUBMITTING IDEAS ive never once said what my idea was is the exact fix. ive never once said anyone was wrong. ive never once attacked anyone else opinion. as far as my car goes. i found the issue, and i had to go to another forum to the troubleshooting help, not here. the closest anyone has gotten to helping me was telling me to check my timing and fuel injectors. which i did. and it became a timing issue, although no one could point me in the right direction. if you claim that people here helping me have more experience with this cars then how come everyone was sending me in a wild chase checking things that wont even cause my issue. i copied my thread here and posted it on another forum. within a couple posts someone told me to check my vacuum advance that it sound like its always advancing. well helllooo that looks to be the exact issue and makes perfect sense. for being such datsun Z enthusiasts you seem to be more interested in my image here on the forum. who cares that i like to be social. isnt that what a forum is for? i give people my input in hopes it will steer them in the right direction. not once have i ever said im right and everyone else is wrong. not once have i ever criticized anyone else’s appearance or knowledge or answers or anything. ive shown nothing but respect until all focus was turned to me. so thats fine, you dont enjoy new comers coming and being social. whatever thats your prerogative, its your forum, ill leave. good day. best of luck to you all. for those of you that dont want me to leave, im sorry, im just not going to take this crap its extremely unfriendly and rude. all this is what PRIVATE messages is for. if you had an issue with something i was doing, should of PM'ed me and all this could of been avoided. good day.

HELP! need to pass emissions by the 16th!
thanks for the referal to them, errin on their forum suggested to check the vacume advance by unplugging the vacume hose and drive it, if i dont notice any difference then my vacume advance could be stuck in advance mode. i did just that and noticed NO difference. so if anyone else has an issue like this that is definitely something easy to try.

sounds awesome, what do you think about putting in aftermarket confort seats of some kind? (not like the racing kind) will something like that work?

best way to confirm gas to carbs?
Ok i understand but you have failed to provide with accurate information other then stating the obvious, and telling me im wrong when you can simply correct me (which im ok with ) and state the correct answer. because if im not corrected ill always be wrong and never learn the right answer. as the post about the gear oil in the tranny, you only shot me down instead of correcting me and helping the user out by telling him/her what the actuall ammount is needed to put in the tranny. and my point is there is your seem to dedicate your time and posts in telling me im wrong and should not post unless im right, when you can simply just post the right answer yourself and end all the hastle.
