I spy a z!
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the nice neighbor lady had a 280zx when we moved here! Its a 2+2 and has a 5 speed. There is another 280zx down the street... the side says "turbo" but I have never seen it moved or taken a closer look myself. My phone is not every good... but its in the background directly behind the neighbors zx (between tree and white car). EDIT: White car is really silver and here is a close up shot of the other ZX. It's a little rough looking, hopefully it will be on the road again one day!

I spy a z!
Is this only for s30s and s130s? Because I see 350z's every day... Oh and also bonus points for getting your Z in the shot? Just kidding... I saw this 1973 parked in the school parking lot. I had already parked elsewhere before I spotted it... so naturally I had to park next to it. I left the guy a "nice Z" note and offered him a spare hood emblem I had for the Z For reference, mine is the white 240z! Edit: I know of a many more around, but I'll try to snap some shots to make the experience more vivid!

[2011] What did you do to/with your S30 today?
One of these springs was bad... but I can't tell which one, so I replaced both! I wanted to thank Bruce and Pam at ZTherapy for sending me those springs. Now I can finally get those carbs tuned properly :classic:

What do you guys think of this car?
If I could afford a Z like that... I would rather buy Arne's. His we know his Z is built with the highest of quality because it is documented on his blog and the site and anything that might need work on, he has disclosed so that you are not buying it without knowing its full story. Plus his is an earlier Z if that makes a difference.

[2011] What did you do to/with your S30 today?
I didn't do this today exactly but here's an update... changed/bled the front brakes on the Z and am planning to adjust the hand brake. Oh I also poked a hole on my passenger frame rail with my finger so much for it being a "california z"....

I agree with 30 Ounce, way too high on the back! The exhaust is interesting as it has been mentioned before...

Quick question about hatch strut
I was told by Randy (rtaylor) of the guy in Canada. I don't know if he still does it, but the info is in the link below. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?28784-1971-Hatch-Strut&highlight=hatch+strut I purchased the one from rockauto, but am holding on to my original for the day I can send it out to be rebuilt.

Adjusted the timing and tuned the carbs, what a difference! My Z was drinking a lot of gas.

240z rear bumper guard rubber pieces
Hey Mitchell, Thanks for letting us know that the other bumper rubbers are still available from Nissan, will come in handy later. I think that you are referring to the #4 rubber parts on the diagram from the site below, but I was talking about #4. I called Nissan about part number: 85056-E4600 and they said its NLA. Banzai Motorworks seems to have the reproduction replacements. http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunFairladyZIndex/Body240Z/TailGatePanelTrimLockRearBumper/tabid/1765/Default.aspx

240z rear bumper guard rubber pieces
Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew of a source for 1972, rear bumper guard rubber pieces? I purchased the front ones from Nissan, but I have checked MSA, BD, Vintage Rubber and even Nissan and can't find anyone who sells them. Are they still available or are they on the list of unobtainium parts?

Jepherz's Datsun 240z restoration
Wow you have a lot to do, but so far you are doing a great job! Was the previous owner a pilot, with all of the toggle switches on the (ruined) fusebox cover? haha. What year is your Z by the way?
