  1. Great Idea. I was hoping someone would arrange something in Northern CA

i bought set from this seller for my 240. The grain texture not exact & the breather vents are gold. Otherwise fit & quality are pretty good.
  3. Looks like you scored a nice one, I like the red over white. Is that the original dash or, a cap?
  4. My boat has canvas windshield wrap that covers the both side & windshield. It has snaps to hold in place. This stays in place while on freeway & would keep out critters & most rainfall
  5. Just recently sold a Jensen Healey. My biggest complaint of British sports cars is that they ALL LEAK OIL. Most mechanics will simply tell you to buy a pan for your garage floor. If your friend is ok with oil leaking & it will not his (or her) primary car a TR6 is a attractive & fun car.
  6. Thanks for all the advice(s). I checked compression again with all plugs out, engine warm & throttle pedal to floor. Now my results are:150-160 all cylinders. I suspect that this is closer to acceptable. A shot of WD40 into cylinders made no difference (motor oil most likely would have).
  7. Funny that you mentioned Ozark, I drive there for 16 years. Still know the management team well & would put in a word for you but, they will require 2 years experience (accident free) driving for another company before they will hire. They required 5 when I started there (so, its getting easier).
  8. Nice, thanks. That is what I was hoping to hear
  9. What is this part? My motor recently sprung a good oil leak. Wondering what are common places for this motor to leak in front just over sway bar. I don't recognize this part on attached image, which is where oil looks like coming from. May just be coming from higher up motor & dripping down.
  10. AAAhhhh. I got-it now. Thanks
  11. Thanks for your responses. I'll try again tomorrow with all 6 plus removed and get back to you. (Arne) I'm not sure I understand holding the throttle open since the motor is just turning over & not actually running.
  12. I'm going to feel pretty stupid if I performed the test wrong. The method I used was: Remove 1 spark plug, thread in the compression gauge hose. I then turned over the motor about (4 sec.) *noted the result. Then I repeated these steps for remaining cylinders. The is no noticeable oil loss or, smell of gas in oil. Also, no noticeable smoke from tailpipe. I have been running 20/50 oil. The carbs are original SU type. Motor completely stock. I dont know what a "leak-down" is so, I cant answer that one. If my numbers are truely low, maybe I can get away with having top-end re-done.
  13. I don't know much about the history of my motor except, that the numbers match & seems to run really well. A quick check of my compression with a cheap (auto parts store tester) revealed: 130 x all 6 cyls. (Actually 1 cyl was about 128). The odometer reads 109,k I'm assuming the motor was rebuilt at some point but don't really know. Are these compression readings acceptable for a stock motor?
  14. Thats really cool! hopefully, you plan to keep the same lettering & graphics.
