Trump is itching to get the mike back... and he's up. Questions. States and localities are on their own. The Feds will not be facilitating anyone getting medical supplies. The Presidnet restated the question from the press - "when will we get masks?" And nobody could give a straight answer. Now the President reveals that he has recommended sanitizing the masks. Genius! Pence - go to your storeroom, see if you have N95 masks, load them up and donate them. Message to the American people. Seriously, check your closet. And.. now the blaming of past admins comes. Trump speaks. Back to reality. Apparently FEMA is the one that is the contact point for supplies. But the FEMA guy can't give a straight answer. Trump back up - nobody expected this yada yada yada... rambling... And finally Trump gets to complain about the media. Better than yesterday, nothing extraordinary. Same old... The press can't resist trolling the President with responsibility questions. Waste of time. Just provides media fodder for the talking heads. Trump keeps falling for it though. Weird how he can't just say "I answered that yesterday". More trolling from the press now, and the same answer from Trump. Like watching a married couple argue... And Trump ends with one last blast of blame, then leaves...

So, political views have disrupted life and families for multiple generations. Can't fix that. But, you can find humor in almost everything. This is funny. Nothing wrong with changing your mind. Adapt. Refusing to change beliefs even after new information refutes the old ones is an odd way of trying to create certainty from uncertainty. Nothing is certain in life. Lots of extinct tribes in the past. So, watch the presser today, see if this guy is worth keeping, and change your mind if you think things will be better the other way. Whatever way you started from. Hanging on to old decisions for the sake of pride, doesn't make anyone look strong. To the contrary. They're supposed to be up at noon, but nothing yet.

Clever sayings sound neat but are rarely useful. If you remove ALL government you're left with 7 billion individuals with sticks and stones. No guns, because manufacturing requires coordination and agreement. Who makes what, how they get "paid" (there's probably no money). So, no government basically means caveman days. You can argue about how much, the degree of government, but pretending that life is better without any at all is nonsense. Which is actually where much of the current mess came from.

Nothing wrong with being prepared. 6 months is a lot. I'm sitting here. prepared, for me, but not for the rest of society. Not looking forward to reading about or hearing about people dying, maybe even losing friends or family. This is kind of back to politics but it brings things home - this is why we have the "Feds". It's their job. Let's hope they can figure out what they're doing.

I've pondered this before and thought "our intelligence agencies should know this. We have the most powerful surveillance tools and personnel in the world." Hard to tell what's really going on anywhere in the world since the intel agencies have been castrated. China hides a lot but we're so interconnected that I don't really think that they could hide something this big. I tend to believe it.

Nobody is really talking about where our food comes from yet. Fresh produce, chicken, beef, seafood, dairy products. Somebody will have to address that issue soon. Somebody at one of Perdue's massive chicken farms is going to get the virus. What then?

Regional stuff. I moved from the Portland metro area and live in Northern Washington state now. I can still find food at the supermarket and people are still out and about at the various parks and hiking trails. Don't know how long it will last. They have the spring break problem here, I see young people frolicking who don't give a crap about distance or contact. Disease vectors everywhere, I can easily imagine a big jump in cases, out of what seems like nowhere. But it's easy to see, walking the streets. Saw a nice orange 240Z the other day. The weather is nice. Doesn't help with "shelter-in-place" at all.

That's why actually watching those morning briefings is important. You can see the man for what he is. Even biased media reports don't show what you can see by watching, live. It can't be put in to words. He is in way over his head but won't let the pros do their job. We've all known people like that. Many people are getting exposed by this crisis. Some things cannot be B.S.'ed away.

The name "Eisenhower" keeps coming to my mind, but I don't understand why. The Coronavirus daily briefing has been all about border control, so far. Every speaker has to say great things about the President's leadership before they can speak. Now Azar is spinning the facts to say that we've been ahead of the game all along. And he's talking about border control again. Unbelievable, this is incredible. I think that he's going to say that we will be executing all immigrants soon. Bow to the President and introduce the next speaker. Finally, someone is offering real useful information.... These updates are actually good entertainment. Everyone should watch them if they can. He's riffing hard now...the President, that is. Nasty questions... Serious, turn it on, it's happening right now. SEAN SPICER is in the audience to ask a softball question about insider information. I can still see his lime green outfit in my head... It's all media-bashing now. Poor Dr. Fauci. Azar just demonstrated clearly that he does not know what "leadership" means. Buy GM! You can pull the cable out partially and insert just the end of the cable in to the speedometer. You can even twist it between your thumb and finger and should see the speedo needle move. It will then be disconnected at the transmission end, but the sheath will still be connected. That might work for you, the transmission end might slip in more easily, since it's a different shape. Pull the speedo end out, firmly place it in to the speedo, then screw the end of the sheath down. You might not have to get under the car to mess with the other end at all. I think that you are being too cautious. It's a very simple mechanism. Easy to take apart and put back together. Not as mysterious as it seems.

If you're not planning to reinstall a vacuum bottle it's kind of moot. Pointless. Can't really drive around sucking on a tube to get heat.
