  1. GTR's have no rear dimisters! Ha never realised that. Just had a look and you're right
  2. Ahhh what happened man?
  3. Yeah I've got stacks I can share, probably better to send me your e-mail address. I've also got some magazines I can show you when I check out your car
  4. Yeah the grill looks metallic for sure. I'm confident it can be matched by eye though, some guys (including my friend Troy) are freaks with color. I can't see difference in some things and he can pick it every time.

I'll be doing all my suspension and drive train in powder coat. It looks great and is durable.
  6. No codes sorry. I don't even know where to start. I don't have any original paint on my grill sorry otherwise I'd have it matched. I'm super, super keen to get it though as I'm rebuilding my grill now. Maybe when you do get it painted you'd be kind enough to paint a couple of sample cards for me? Good luck!
  7. I'm confused. I'm Adam, are you an Adam too? .
  8. Nope, not Dave's son.
  9. Mate I'm out in Tulla all the time working on my car at a mates workshop so I'm more than willing to come out and give you the low down once you pick it up. When are you going to collect it?
  10. The top is a bit more tricky to remake and was salvageable.
  11. Congrats, hope it's solid enough. Gimmi a yell when you get it, ill come for a sticky beak.
  12. Happy New Year everyone! Bit of an update on the grill. So to recap I bought the grill on Yahoo Japan, from the pictures I could tell it was rusty but thought I could simply dip it, repair and then refinish it. When it arrived it had a lot more rust than I'd bargained for. As you can see the base and supporting brackets are pretty much dust. I drilled out the old alloy rivets and disassembled the grill. The mesh and surround are actually stainless so I had this dipped and linished ready for paint. It's not back yet though. So quite a few parts were well beyond saving. I send the top section away to be dipped and zinc plated with some other stuff. It came back with quite a few small holes where the rust had taken it's toll. I filled these with lead and then rubbed the surface back flush ready for filling. No doubt once it's filled and primed it will look as good as new. I had the lower section and brackets remade by a local custom body shop. He did a great job! Once the mesh comes back I'll rub back all parts including the plastic ends and prep them ready for priming then reassemble ready for paint. Some people are probably wondering why I bothered with this grill instead of buying a fiberglass replica, I just prefer to use as many original parts as possible and enjoy resting these old and broken parts.
  13. I often wonder what cars like ours will be worth when complete. Not that I'd sell it.
  14. No carbon, could be fixed or remade though. Can't see it being a hard bit to find though.
  15. Beggars can't be choosers haha, I'm sure it's rough and I wouldn't go near it but people are getting desperate and anything is repairable.
  16. Yeah it looks good mate. Those clips are a pain in the arse, try this place mate - http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/page41.jpg
  17. Seems like a reasonable buy, wouldn't want to pay too much though.
  18. Tail light panel looks good, was it color matched by eye?
  19. Yahoo Japan is really the only good place to find parts. All the interior really needs to be retrimmed as you can't buy new stuff, carpet can be sourced here in Australia and via eBay (the Aus seller is on eBay). It's a tough job!

  21. Yep gotta agree, the green is nice.
  22. Yep, it's exactly the same finish and all, it's just been coated in wood grain. The only issue in a lot of cases is corrosion on the alloy. This is mine after I stripped it with nothing else done.
  23. Yeah ケンメリ is correct. I see tail light sets go for around $300-$400 at times which isn't too bad. If I see any I'll post them here for you.
