  2. Amen brother! If you love your car enough to keep it from the rust demons and salvage yards, it really doesn't matter what you do. Personally I love the period correct mods. If I would have bought it brand new in '72 the wheels and hubcaps wouldn't have lasted a week. And I've never owned a car that I didn't try to get more power out of. After All... 3. I side completely with Kmack and alg - rebuilt L28 turbo. Nate
  4. Ahhh, Bad Religion. Very nice. My driving music always consist of a little Bad Religion and Social Distortion. I've been listening to Trapt a lot lately and U2 and the Police are two of my favorite anytime anyplace albums. Nate
  5. Those are real close and would work for me. PM or email me to give me specifics, IE: size, damage, what you're looking to get for them. Any idea what it would cost to ship them? Thanks a lot Nate
  6. I did find some at Jegs for the $40-50 mark but they were all 5 bolts.
  7. Looking to get a set of inexpensive (read: cheap) chrome steel wheels for the Z. Just a little something until I decide to drop the money on a set of Panasports. Back in High School I bought a set of wheels from Summit for like $40-$45 each. I'd actually like the same set but in Z size, but they don't seem to carry them anymore. I can't remember the brand or model name either. These were a simulated 2 piece wheel chrome steel wheel with 5 triangle holes. If anybody knows where to get a cheap set of chrome wheels let me know. Thanks Nate
  8. Hey guys, you are correct. I've decided to do what I always said I wouldn't do... Purchase a car without seeing it first. I've got a good repor with the guy and he has sent me a lot of pics. I'm arranging shipping tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys Nate
  9. Okay guys... taken off of page 196 chapter 11- Technical Bulletins, Hi-Lights & Recalls - in "How to Restore Your Datsun Z-car" by Wick Humble... "Defroster-Wire Alignment Changed; Dated 4-11-1972 Beginning with number HLS30-062001, the rear-window-defroster wires run horizontally rather than vertically. There is no provision for the defroster circuit defroster wiring harness in 240Zs previous to HLS30-01456. Datsun recommended their accessory relay, part number 25230-E4100, be used with the stock switch, part number 25350-E8200. A 20-amp inline fuse holder and 10- and 18-gauge are required. The previous hatch-glass part number is 90301-E4101; the new glass number is 90301-E8800. " Does that help any. The '72 that I'm waiting to have shipped to me has the Vertical lines. Nate

  15. Have you seen these guys yet Elliot Electronics ?
  16. yeah, that's why I mentioned the Sony cassette receiver. As you may know you can just bridge the Right F&R , and bridge the Left F&R to end up with a 2 channel set-up. I'll see if i can dig it up, but I recall seeing that Pioneer and Kenwood were making new Cassette receivers that had the physical look of older units. One of them even had a shaft style unit that looked like an early 70's GM unit. I'll see if I can find them again. Happy hunting. Nate
  17. I see they get an early start out there in Indiana! Personally I'll be staying off the roads tonight. Best of luck to ya'll and Happy New Year!
  18. Hey tomo, might cost more than it's worth. If you're stuck on cassettes- Crutchfield has a Sony Xplod XR-ca350x for $89.99 detachable face and 22x4 RMS. And you know the amplifer is gonna be leaps and bounds better. my 2 cents
  19. Did anybody else try to stick the bear with the pin?
