RB30DE engine
Well my last two Datsuns i supercharged and they were very good to drive, but i just didn't want the complications that come with all that plumbing, just wanted to "keep it simple" and keep the engine bay clean. As it is 3lt 10.5:1 comp and VVT it is very fast off the line and out of any corner, it also breathes freely up to is 7100RPM cut.

Aussie Cams
I see the valve lift specs are really the cam lift and has to be multiplied by the rocker arm ratio, which i think was 1.5:1 I would recomend the 702 with a good set of springs, was a nice cam when set up retarded 6 degrees from standard. Steven

Aussie Cams
I had a Camtech "702"in my old L28, cant remember the specs now , but it did have 13mm of valve lift idled at 800rpm and had very good mid range power and ran hard to 7000 rpm. Steven

new master cyl's
My brake set up is very much like yours, and i can tell you that once you get it on the road you will love it. You have to push them a little harder at low speed to stop, but the rest of the time the braking, feel and control you get from the non boosted system is fantastic.

Disc brake conversion, which m/c?
With any Hydraulic brake system , the maximum system pressure for the least pedal pressure will result from the smallest master cylinder you can use. Hydraulic force ratio = slave cylinder piston area/master cylinder piston area Slave being wheel cylinders The limit of couse is the smaller the master cylinder diameter the more the pedal will have to travel to displace the required amount of fluid. So when sizing the master cylinder use the smallest you can with out the pedal travel exceeding 75% I would use the one you have and try that first. Steven

RB30DE
Hi Luke As far as ive seen the RB25 turbo and non turbo heads are te same, they just changed pistons to change the compression ratio, but injectors and manifolds are different. Im a mechanic so i did it all my self, but the head all the parts gaskets ect cost around $600. I used a new engine managment system, but i think in Zoom mag they did one and used the RB25 computer and ignition module, with the old wirring harness. Good luck. http://home.iprimus.com.au/cobra30/twincam.htm http://www.r31skylineclub.com/content/techinfo/twincam_conversion.pdf Sorry your email didnt work

Lash pads
Hi Brett, if you have a set of narrow feeler gauges, you can slip one in between the rocker tip and the lash pad to calculate the extra thickness over the stock item. This is a help if you have to order parts. But a better way is to go to tack it to, Stewart Wilkins Motorsport: Fax: 02)4577 4299 Ph: 02)4577 2400 Email:swrallying@ozemail.com.au and have him do it, saves running around exchanging pads. Nice car, from what i can see , ill have to come up and have a closer look one day. Are you in the Sydney zed club? Steven

End compression pressure
Hi guys There are 14.5 PSI to the BAR. So we have cyl 1 101.5 PSI cyl 2 101.5 PSI cyl 3 94.25 PSI cyl 4 94.25 PSI cyl 5 91.35 PSI cyl 6 87.00 PSI The fact that the compression is only around 60% of what it could be ( 150- 160 ) is not good. The range from highest to lowest is more than 10%, but would indicate general engine wear rather than a problem, like head gasket or valves. Steven

You have to love the Datsuns, they remind me of the Stoogers and the OZ band Radio birdman. Steven
