  1. well, i don't know why the price was so low... everything works! the only thing is a minor vacuum leak, which i spotted immediately. small hose, too old. i bought it from a woman who originally got it for the looks. she just bought a new camry, so she didn't need it. it's got a small dent on the driver-side rear fender (yet another case of an asshat boyfriend...) the car's clean in/out. the center arm-rest compartment is broken, and the driver seat could use a replacement... some springs worn, or broken. let's just say that jan. 20, 2004 is the day that i got lucky!
  2. hey all... i don't know if anybody remembers me, but i used to live in utah, and i had a '73 240z... well, unfortunately i moved to texas, and left my baby behind for a paltry $425... well, to the present. i live in hawaii now, and i have just purchased a new z. it's a 1987 300zx... i know, i know i don't technically belong, but this is the coolest z club hands down. well, a little bit about the car: i got it for $900. check it out! i just posted pictures today. it's been recently checked, and registered (december, 2003) it has no major problems!!! wow. i plan to be driving it in a month, or so. glad to be back to the forums!

    new format good.
  6. hey, all! the thing that makes me drive crazy long, winding roads! if it's night-time, then it's all the better. loud, chaotic music, and the revving of engines also gets my blood boiling. funny how my foot has a tendency to get heavy when these factors are thrown together. should i see a doctor? :stupid:
  7. half the stinking punks who had some "raced out" hondas at my highschool before i graduated ALSO had dents, or breaks of some sort on their car. don't they have eyes??? i'd like to see them try to drive an exotic, with much less visibility! tchhh...
  8. and another thing... for the lights, be sure to check the connections. i believe the blinkers, etc can be found inside the front wheel wells. as for the car not running, it could be the timing is off. you could try to advance the distributor. also, if the carburetor's are backfiring, it could be a lean fuel mixture. hope this helps.
  9. actually, my 30 yr old z clock works...
  10. just a few months back, around december, i helped an old lady with her computer. she had gotten an e-mail about some file called nwblink.somethingorother (exe, i think). well, i thought it sounded important, so i went to the microsoft webpage to verify my suspicion. it turned out to be a file that allowed windows to use extended filenames (greater than the 8.3 format). so when you get something like that, also beware, check out microsoft's webpage before you delete files in your windows directory!!! lousy bums, who are trying to hurt nice old ladies SHOULD be publicly HUMILIATED, and severely BEATEN!!!
  11. that brings up another question... why can the idiots ALWAYS afford things to trash, again, and again? why is all the injustice in the world towards those of us who don't deserve it???
  12. seeing stuff like that makes me fear that someday, i may meet one of those legendary idiots. and as luck would have it, it'll be in my z, or some other nice car i hope to restore.
  13. yeah, and there could be a showroom for the ol' z, with a secret garage entrance, one with a long runway, so you can break from the entrance at 80 m.p.h. damn, i hope i'm a millionaire some day!
  14. nice work 2MZs. thanks for the help.

i forgot to mention that a universal holley is also quite cheap! i got mine for 180, new. for the throttle linkage, you're on your own though.

well, i don't know how mine measure up to other carbs on a z, but i've bolted on a holley 4-barrel. it seems to work great, though you'd have to get a special manifold to bolt on. i'm not sure where to get them. i happen to have a z junkyard here in utah, and there was one there. it's a fairly common carb modification as far as i can tell. hope that helps!

well, i've been working on my z for the last while, and finally, after much time, and agony, it's ready to hit the road again! i plan to take it on it's first drive in around 2 months. thanks to all who have helped out. watch out, you rice rocket jockeys!
  18. well, i'm only 19, but in my short experience dealing with women, i've noticed that they have absolutely no appreciation for organization in chaos. my computer area is piled with cd's, papers, and who knows what else, and my mom comes and puts my stuff away, and she's just shaken my world apart! i can't find anything. leave my stuff alone please, mom!!! geez:confused: it takes me days to get my system back to a steady flow. what's wrong with MY organization style?
  19. pickups are easy to get squealin', because their light back ends. especially toyotas
  20. that's quite a nice ride you've got there. i don't know how such an old car can look so good!
  21. i have also noticed cracks in my paint. i don't think it's a big deal. the paint jobs seem to be quite thick at some parts though!
  22. well, to tell the year of a z, you open the driver-side door, and there's a metal plate with a manufacture date (i.e. 12/72 for my 1973). if you have a 1972 it can range from ?september? of 1971 until ?august? of 1972. i don't know if that makes sense, or if i got the proper months, but it's a general idea.
