my 260z with headlight covers

v12horse

I have always wanted a set of the OEM style headlight covers, but I was not sure if they would look good with my 305 paint. I saw a picture of a 305 Z in Japan with headlight covers and I thought it looked spectacular. The headlight covers I have are reproductions, but they are of excellent quality. The install was a little trickey, but not too bad. The fiberglass headlight bucket is a different shape than the steel ones. If people are interested, I will post a tech article on the install. Just tell me.

Looking fantastic Ben. Looks like a rare LHD home-market car!!

The headlight buckets are a different shape? That's news to me. Howso? I noticed your covers are a different shape to the ones I had on my 240Z. Mine carried the line of the fender around to meet the bonnet edge - do you know what the story is with that?

Thanks Lachlan!

The sugar scoop of the steel bucket seems to protrude slightly more than the frp one as the covers fits very snug (that is not so on the frp one). could anyone bring light to this? It may be the headlight covers too???

I am not sure why the headlight covers fit over the edge of the light scoop, but that is how they were from the begining with the OEM covers. I am not sure why, but I love the look. I too would be interested to know the history on this detail. Thanks for the interest.

-Ben
