i want to do an engine swap for a 240 and i need to know what to look at and most important what it is going to cost me.

i was looking at the chevy 350 corvette engines at

and relized i dont know what to look for

um...

try an L28 engine from an 280Z and get some Triple Carbs..

they hual arse... souind sexy.. look good.. and stay original.

or an L28ET engine.. TURBO BABY!

i want to push a lot of power so i can beat my uncles 360 modena in the quarter mile

there aint no way i can get him in the turns but the strait i think i could get him with the proper application to the 240

also thinking about turbo upgrade

Check HybirdZ.org for the best advice on a powerplant change.

I'd personally go for an L28ET to get lots more power and it not cost anywhere near as much as a complete conversion.

But if you're going to go the whole hog, as it were, a supercharged chev would haul some serious arse.

Or stay with Nissan and RB26 the sucker, or Quad cam Nissan alloy V8 it.

There's lots of options because of the large engine bay on a Z, but as I said at the start, your best bet would be to check out HybridZ

I have no idea what your uncles car is but are you sure there's no way you could beat him in the corners the Z can be quite a weapon once set up right.

Depends what country your in and how much work your going to do yourself?

zpictor - it's a 360 Ferrari Modena not Modina - after the place in Italy !

5000 dollars might get you an engine but grow up and face realities - if you want to stop and steer, it's going to cost you a whole lot more !

If you just want to outrun him in a straight line, build a dragster ! Zeds are for taking corners too !
