Dash-Caps

Featured Replies

What are your thoughts on dash-caps? My dash has three large cracks in it. A dash-cap seems to be a cheap alternative to a newish looking dash.

Does anyone have experience or images of some installed dash-caps?

I put a full dash cap on my car 10 years ago - still looks perfect:classic:!!

I do not like the half caps because of the edge/seam that shows all the way accross the dash. My cap fits into all the guage openings and fits very nice. MSA still sells them.

I guess I'd have to see one in real life to be convinced, but without seeing I don't like the idea. In my mind I have this image of a huge bulky dash. And I suppose it's the purist in me, but a few small cracks in the dash are like dings or scratches in a pickup truck - they give it character.

My cracks are very wide an reveal the yellow foam inside. It is very unsightly. Plus some moron tried to repair one of them with some sort of show glue or something. So the dash is a write off ;)

I installed a full cap from VB about 6 months ago. looks original, and MUCH cheaper than a full dash.

I have a picture in my gallery, or follow the link to the page for my Z.

money well spent !
