Lack of acceleration once reach 4,000 rpm

Featured Replies

For unknown reasons my 1971 240Z started having issues of not accelerating after 4,000 rpm. It revs just fine when not under load.

I have checked and double checked the carb settings. I replaced the coil. I checked point gap. I replaced the fuel pump and blown out the fuel lines plus replaced the ones at the rear by the tank. I am beginning to think it is distributor related.

Is there anything that you all can suggest I look at/check while I have the distributor apart? Any other suggestions regarding distributors?

You could rule out in tank problems by rigging up a temporary fuel source with return lines
