Banjo fittings for carbs

Featured Replies

Might be over thinking the washer situation a bit. Do the install and snug them down. I realize you’re dealing with aluminum casings on the carbs. Someone might have a better idea. Using a torque wrench on aluminum scares me a bit. Keep in mind you should be dealing with only 5lbs of pressure.

So, I got a set of "proper" banjo fittings with crush washers from Demon Tweeks. But how do I get them to crush? Is there some particular torque value I need to apply to the hollowed-out bolts or do I just get them finger-tight plus, let's say, a quarter turn??

You'll know when they're tight enough when they don't leak. ;)

I snug them down by feel and check tightness after a few heat cycles. Resist the urge to over-tighten.
