It's what came with the L28 3.1 L stroker I bought a few years ago.

One one side it has the CWC marking near the tail end and the C2 on the opposite side.

At the front, on one side it has the EP40 marking and the 0.5 (Your guess is as good as mine on this) marking near the middle of the cam.

This might help for ID marks. They're stamped on the back end. Also notice the size of the base circle, the part with no lobe. If it was reground the base circle wil be smaller. Yours kind of looks like a factory original cam.

Great info, Zed Head. Unfortunately, I see absolutely no markings on the rear of this cam.

Im not the expert here but I have heard the CWC's were aftermarket cams that are known to fail. Datsun cams should have Japan and E30 stamps.

Interesting. Thanks, Terrapin. I know this engine has worked OK for the PO so I guess I'll give it a try. At least replacing a cam is easier than replacing a crank.

I've got a dial indicator so, in theory, I could determine the lift and duration but that's not a high priority right now. I need to get the engine refresh done and get it and the tranny into the car.
