Question for the Ozies

Featured Replies

If you go to my post "Vinyl Top" you will find a description and a picture of a 1971. My question is: in Oz how many days (or minutes?) from the time this car hit the papers in an ad in a city the size of Adelaid would it be sold? $$$?

I went to look at my '71 240 about three days after the paper was published and I was the first enquiry, after some negotiations and a rego inspection which took a few days there had still been no other interest. This car was (and is) in excellent condition.

On the other I have gone to look at dogs that the owners 'claim' people have been falling over.

I think there are too many variables.

Nigel

Many of the damn things are sold without even advertising, by people expressign interest over the years and the guys collecting phone numbers (I put a note on a windscreen nearly two years ago and got a call last night) Incidentally 240Z for sale in adelaide for those who are interested.

My parts car I called the lady at 6.30 am on my way to work, and I was the first call, bought it sight unseen, when I went to pick it up, she had had 13 phonecalls after mine and before 8am. I think for the price that one in the add would go pretty rapidly.

Cheers Chris

I've been trying to sell my 260z 2 seater, for around 2 months now, and its not sold yet... got it in the trading post for 4.5k i thought that was pretty decent price.. but doesnt look like it

Nathan you are not asking an unreasonable price. You just haven't found a serious buyer. Don't dispare it's just a matter of time.

:classic:

4.5 k eh?

Mmmmmmm..........

I sold mine by word of mouth. Lucky, becasue I also advertised it in the Just Cars magazine (sent the ad in just before I sold it as I didn't expect it to sell), but I've only had one phone call from that magazine!!

All you need is a bit of luck, the right price and a serious buyer :)

Threse days: Minutes, if it hits the advertisment stage at all.

I think in Adelaide, there is a waiting list.... Lucky I got my car in '96 :classic:

And even worse in adelaide at the moment there is a certain individual buying up every two seater he can, last count was five or 6 two seaters. It just makes it harder for the rest of us.
