Redrill hubs for 4x100?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if Z car hubs can be redrilled for 4x100 pattern? I have a new set of 15x7 wheels, 4x100, with an offset that will work with our z-cars, that is, if I can redrill the hubs acceptably...

Because I already have wheels with the proper offset! I don't need spacers, have no room for spacers, don't want spacers. These are not 40mm offset Honda/Nissan/VW wheels.

Well, OK, but...

They do make these spacers in custom thinknesses if you are using non-Honda spec offset wheels.

I think the problem would be that to do the job correctly re-drilling the hubs, you would need to get 280 hubs and stub axles to be able to have enough material to re-drill 4 new holes in the flange in the correct spacing you need. If you were to use the 240 hubs, they would need to weld and re-drill the existing stud mounting holes, which would end up being as strong as they would need to be, but it would cost you quite a bit in labor and machine costs.

Try contacting Modern Motorsports and see what they can come up with, or ask them if they could do your hubs and what their opinion would be...:ermm:

I'm not a machinist, but, if you look at the differences between the 240 and 280 hubs, perhaps you'll understand what I'm trying to explain. The 280 hub flange is the same thickness and is round, while the 240 hub flange has 4 "ears" that have raised pads that the wheel mounts against.

What about redrilling the 280z hubs to suit a 5by114.3 PCD? on the rotor side and the wheel side???

So i can fit different rotors easier and more common wheels?

what are those 'new wheels' off of? or what are they made to fit? 4x100 with correct offset are ultra rare.

They would have to be very thin spacers, like 0mm to retain the correct offset. ROFL

What aboout A NEGATIVE OFFSET SPACER-or would that be like a portable hole...

Maybe if you mixed spam and vegimite...

have you thought about using hubs off a car with 4 x 100 studs on the z strut thats what i did with my rx4 used datsun hubs on mazda struts only had to change bearings luckicly the hubs had bearing mounts in same place the re drilled back axles to suit might be worth a look i know other guys who have used for hubs on datsun struts to get ventliated discs i just bought black discs and mounted them to datsun hubs on my zed

What aboout A NEGATIVE OFFSET SPACER

No...I don't think that'll work. THOSE spacers have the bolts facing the INSIDE.
