Steering shaft is rubbing

Hi folks,

I have a stock 1972 240z and the steering shaft is lightly rubbing against the drivers side motor mount.

All suspension is relatively new, motor mounts were replaced, the rack and pinion was replaced with a rebuilt unit from CA. Datsun.

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

I was hoping that was all I had to do. Is there any sequence I need to follow to rotate the rack.

Nope, just loosen the 4 bolts holding the rack onto the cross member then rotate the rack about a 1/4" clock wise from the driver side,  if that doesn't clear it you could also grind a little notch into the engine mount for clearance.  There is also the chance that the engine mount is on upside down or P/S mount got mixed up with D/S.
