Z cars in movies

Featured Replies

Just went and saw a flick and in the previews of "Bruce Almighty" Jim Carry (sp?) is driving a silver 70's Z. I couldn't tell the year because it was a quick look, But the question is: What movies have you seen Z cars in?

Mushu...if you go into the open discussions section you can check out a thread exactly like this that we discussed about 2 months ago! Lots of replies!

Cheers ppl!

You can see the trailer at

Looks to be a 280z or 260z. It also looks like he wrecks it at one point since the hood is folded up in one scene. I'm guessing (after reading the other thread a few months ago) that this will be the first major movie in recent years to feature a 1st gen Z as a main characters wheels.

Mmm... he drives it until he gets powerful and then gets that hunk of saleen iron...

so he drives it when he a loser... :tapemouth

:finger: i dont like the looks of where this is heading...

I agree, I would rather not see it in a movie at all than to see it portrayed as a 'beater.'

Andrew

Can someone get a screenshot of that sequence? I can't seem to make it work.

Anyway, it looks like a later-model (280z?) becuase of the large bumper in front.

I tried to get a screen shot, but it wouldn't work. From what little you can see, it is a big-bumper model, but looks to have the smooth bumper ends, so is probably a late 260 or early 280.

Mushu,

I seem to recall that when I saw the movie, the car appeared to be a 75/76 280Z by the bumpers.

Cat:beard:

I remember seeing a Z in ET. It was in the background in one scene where the kid was walking in the neighborhood. I think it was a 280z (its been awhile since I've seen it).
