Saw this article about winter grade gas coming two weeks early.  Hot weather + winter grade could = hot start/heat soak.

I read that article earlier today, too.  Didn't understand the need to pump winter gas two weeks early and why the pipeline owner is being difficult with Valero.  One would think gas stations would want gas, unless they make more jacking the price and claiming shortages.

We have a Colonial pipeline tank farm in Birmingham, right down the road from my area. We have pretty cheap fuel prices in North Alabama. 

When you all go to the winter mix what is it lacking? If you get a higher octane does that even it out? Or is there more than 10% ethanol? Thanks. Cliff

Cliff, for perspective, the Valero station just down the road from where I'm sitting is selling unleaded regular for $3.49 a gallon today.  Think there's any profit?

A week ago, $2.04. Today $2.34. 

Mine is obviously better because it costs 50% more
