Z Car Source carpet and seat kits

So about carpets and such... I'm thinking about changing my carpet color to something that was never stock, and I'm thinking that I might want a non-year accurate loop pile in my car (even though my car should have cut pile). Bottom line is that I'm not sure I'll be able to find what I'm looking for from any of the pre-cut commercial suppliers. In other words, I might be looking for custom cut carpet

Anyone here done such a thing? Should I be looking for a rug store, or an upholstery shop?

I bet I could cut the carpet to the correct basic shape myself, but then I need the edges sewn... Again, anyone have any experience with such an undertaking?

PS - Siteunseen, Nice avatar pic. I've noticed that it's been rolling around topically in the past week or two.

ACC has loop for a 1977. I like their carpets.

Molding the carpet to the floor, rocker and trans tunnel would be a challenge to do yourself. I'd get the ACC kit and be done with it. I just put their 1975 280Z kit in a 1971 240Z. The front carpet is in 2 parts and each goes from door sill to door sill and covers the inner rockers. The seam is at the front seat mount. And there's the piece for the hatch area. It looks like you can get a kit that also covers the rear shock tower area too.

For pics of the carpet in the 240Z click below. If that doesn't work seach FB for "Chuck Buczeskie" and it's in the album "Ken Baudoux's 1971 240Z project".

Lots of colors offered too. Mine needs replacement and I have the red interior.

I am itching for a change and am looking at going with a dark red close to

my interior. Have not seen that done yet so I may have to just go for it.
