Bumpers - Market for or Not? '75 280z

Featured Replies

Hello,

I pulled the 5 mile-an-hour bumpers from my 1975 280z and mounting hardware. I don't want them. I'm not familiar with the market. Are these worth trying to sell or just trash them?

Thanks!

Robert

If they are in great condition, you might be able to sell them to someone trying to do a restoration. I wouldn't bet on that, though.

If you still have the little 1 1/16 round plugs that go over the bolts on the side rubber piece for the back bumper I will take those.

Don't trash anything! Give them away, if you must, but don't trash them. Some people actually like the 5 mph bumpers and feel they make a 280 look like a 280.

Take pictures and post them, I like the 280 bumpers, mine are very good but if i find ones better I will replace them.

That's how I've always felt. When I had my 78 I also had 2 complete spare bumper sets including the rubber. I didn't pay a lot for them; they came from the junkyard and were in excellent condition. When I sold my car, I gave the spares to a friend who had a 77 and he put one set on his car and sold the other for $300 (or so he says).

Black Gold, if only you had the rear! (Mine is corroded from exhaust acids.)

Regardless, I'd be interested in adopting the front set if you'd be kind enough to ship to me. I'll of course gladly pay shipping.

I will look into shipping I would think 100 bucks easy. I might have a sale of one end .

I will get back to you on that Fastwoman.

I have complete front with ends someone come get it free good condition . 78z

I wish you were in Houston - I'd grab them up and even buy you some BBQ!
