Windshield Seal

Featured Replies

I'm going to need a windshield rubber seal soon, and would like to get some reports from anyone who has used different suppliers products. The # 1 question is who should I buy from. My car is completly stripped at this time getting the cage installed. I spent the day fitting a fiberglass dash to the car, fitting it around the cage bars. As you can see, a lot of work is still to be done. I need to temporarily install the seal, to make sure the dash will fit up nice and snug to it. Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks.

I used a precision rubber seal from the full weather kit that MSA sells. It was very nice.

You may be able to register the distances from the cowl screw holes in this photo.

I always buy Nissan when available. The windshield seal is still available......I just installed one in my 71 resto. Perfect fit.

Had no issue fitting the "Precision" front & rear window seals in my 240Z. Fit fine and no leaks.

I went with the Vintage Rubber kit. Seals looked very nice but have not been installed yet as the car is still on the roti.

Id love to know what kind of seals Vintage rubber makes but those damn guys wont reply to my email! I've called them once and sent 4 emails... not a good customer service (a little OT sorry)

Thanks for all your thoughts. I have decided to go for an aftermarket seal based on the rather silly price of a NOS seal which can be seen in the pic below. I will follow up on this post when I recieve the seal and give it a good look.

Phred,

Before laying down $300 do more research. I recently was web researching a mix-up in a part in a Precision kit and I do recall a post about Precision supplying MSA, VB and Nissan. I thought it strange but it may be worth checking out...especially these days with monopolies, buy-outs, closings and diminishing competition. Could have been on Hybrid or Zcar or Classic or another Z forum.
