It's fun watching the wideband guage as the weather changes. Here in Indiana we just went from super hot and humid to 65 and no humidity and I watched her run lean. I have always kept it on the lean side, but WOW she really went lean this week. I fattened her up a good half a turn on the mixture nuts and boom -baby, it was a different engine.

This to me is all the justification I need for all the work I'm putting in on my CAI for my Mikunis.

My car had been running rich all summer, so Saturday I readjusted the mixture and had it working pretty good, if a little lean. Sunday we had our annual "Zs in the woods event, and the weather had turned cold and wet. I had to keep the choke on most of the way to the park.

I am on vacation this week, so this morning I adjusted the mixture again. I had to turn both carbs about 1/4 turn richer to get it to run right. Time will tell I guess.

Walter,

that's exactly what i was doing at first. I was watching my wideband run into the high 16 area and as I pulled the choke it came back down. Like you I had been playing with the mixtures to get it right for this hot summer and boom the temperatures drop out. It took a full half turn to get the car to a power mixture. No regrets on installing the wideband-except not having one for each pipe:)

  • 2 weeks later...

I remember coming across and reading a thread on wideband exhaust sensors sometime ago, but apparently don't know what to search for as "sideband" returns way to many results. It was about a in-car system. Could someone direct me to the correct thread(s)?

Thanks,

Chris

And "sideband" seems to return stuff on CB radios.;)

I meant "sideband."

One of my projects for next year is to rework my glove box entertainment system to include a custom faceplate that houses the oxygen sensor and also be the faceplate for the remote radio. I do have my original radio where it should be and currently have a remote system in the glovebox that I am not overly excited about. That way I can have a location for the oxygen sensor dial and music dials.
