'70 Project car on Ebay

I would say that they are expecting a lot more. The reserve has not been met and it requires a post auction $600. deposit. jlp

I agree, JL. It was a weak attempt at sarcasm, directed to the "nearly complete". Thinking it through, that description was probably meant to convey that the car is not stripped. It just reminded me of the threads where posters have contributed the text of ads , where people describe an item as "needing a little work", "A/C doesn't work, probably just needs recharge", "won't start, just needs battery", etc.

Anyone up for a challenging (expensive) project?!!! It would be interesting to find out the VIN of this car.

I agree, Mr. 24. To some of us, such as Stephen, Jerry, and myself,

the VIN is important information. I personally think it should be REQUIRED information. Somebody pick me up if I am wrong, but

based on the hatch it's a Series 1, which would make its VIN about

21000 or lower. Since it has the carburetor air box without the

preheater diverter switch on the snout, the VIN is probably some-

what lower than that.

I have no idea what the reserve might be, but I assume it must be

pretty high for a car in that condition. Even if I won the bid at

$201, I would still be looking at transportation fees way in excess

of $1000-- maybe $2000-- which puts it out of range for me.

DITTO,

I have explained to the owner the location of the VIN on the firewall and requested that he post it for those who might be interested. He did reply but still has not posted the VIN.
