I have a ton of pics of the Corsair, if you would like some let me know. I have some of the engine starting and we go to watch it taxi away under its own power and fly off. The pilot then did a fly over. NOTHING On earth sounds better than an 18 cylinder radial!

Wow, some very nice classic shapes there, except for that danged ol' Datsun... nyuck nyuck Would like to see that corsair footage. If it's on DVD is it still footage or is it dotage or what exactly is it? Feel pretty dumb saying "film at 11" anymore.

It is actually a bunch of stills I have. But the guys at the car meet, have some HD video they are splicing together. Should be pretty good!

When you say in the Pacific do you mean during the Korean war? The Bearcat never saw combat in WW II.

Wild Cat, Hell Cat, Bear Cat... pretty much the same line..except Bear Cat was somewhat copied more from FW 190A (another fav but the 190D trumps it).. BC was made during WWII but as you say it was late for the party... sort of like the Ta152 and He162(sort of)... Gloster meteor, P80 shooting star etc. can also be added.

A lot of cool machinery was made in that brief moment of history...especially EFI beating Carbs (109E vs Hurricane and Spit).

I think it is funny to own a Japanese car with German EFI (280z) when in 1943 it was unthinkable and maybe treasonous... time is the best cure and best army.

I love the pics and the Corsair too. But I really like the Spitfire Merlins.
