Wanted to shear the pictures here with you guys. I'm going to look soon just if he has a window for my Z. He is asking 10.000 USD for it.

Love the color! Were these cars ever made in Black? Sure looks nice in the photo's.

Price seems great too, I'd go for it.

I don't know about the color, i don't want it have my own Z. But i even can't pay it. He ask around 15.000 euro's. I'm just a student.

Bart, it's always nice to have another Z owner nearby. You never know when you might need a hand with something; having someone with knowledge nearby is a wonderful thing.

Besides, the owner might have a few lines for parts that you don't know about.

No. Black didn't appear on the S30 until the 1978 Black Pear Edition.

Disclaimer: My statement is true in the U.S. I've not heard anything of other markets getting black S30s from the factory.

Cool car, interesting seeing the black on one of these cars. I wonder why black was never offered as an option until 1978?

I agree, why did it take so long? 911s, jags and corvettes of the day were all offered in black, why not the 240Z?

The original paints were acrylic enamels with no hardener. It took a few years until they started putting clear coats on that black was durable enough. Remember these were not expensively made cars.

So does he want $10,000 US, or $15,000 Euros?

Big difference.

1 dollar is about 1,51 euro right now.

Maybe differrent color options and more things for Europe Z's. I don't know.

No - no black 240-Z's. The Black 280Z produced for the 78 Model Year here in the US was really a limited edition - "test market" - to see if a black Z would sell. It did and the following year the 280ZX was introduced with Black as a standard color.

The original paints were amino-alkyd enamel... for 69/70 the acrylic (Acryl) enamels were used only on the Silver Metallic 69/70.

FWIW,

Carl B.
