I just get the 1st half of my invoice for Rubys engine

ARP Head Studs $142

ARP Rod Bolts $56

Decked Block $80

Polish Crankshaft $45

Honed Rods $85

Honed Cylinders $50

Pulling Engine Labor $588

Build Engine Labor $700

Next on the list is ordering a set of JE Forged Pistons

and Rods with offset piston pins, another $700+

still have the brakes and 6-2 headers to go and

high capacity oil pump, aluminum radiator and

electric fan.

Almost done though, hopefully I can get her done by

July as long as this symbol (($))stays away :cheeky:

OK this just in...

The Damage list in the case of

"Carb Gasket on FI Z".

1~ Oil pan gasket leak was worse off than thought,

in other words the crankcase wasn't even sealed properly and the preasure

was coming out in so many words.

2~ "Something" from the timing chain had broke off and was laying in the

bottom of the oil pan!

3~ The cam oiler spary bar wasn't even WORKING ! ! ! !

AT ALL ! ! ! ! ! !

4~ Head gasket was a cheap copper type instead of the steal layered kind

which should've been used hence the leak from that.

and 5~ We dont know what caused this but one of the crank bearings was

so pitted Nakatsu said had Ruby been a V8 it would've BLEW.

A testament he said to how well our S30 Z's were built, L24/26/28 and all.

I dont know who originally rebuilt my Ruby girls engine but they did not

do S*#$ right.

I know I know I know I shouldn't cous but this has all the markings of

sabotage or complet incompetiance.

Took a look at my Ruby girl 2 days ago and she looks beutiful :)

The engine was still out when I got to the race shop to have a

look, all though the engine was fully assembled and sitting on a pallet awaiting the MSA Aluminum radiator still.

Thought it was in the car thanks to someone who heard wrong.

The engine color is Silver with everything from the oil pan down

pianted Blake.

Dean Nakutsu, the engine builder, wanted to paint the valver cover too but

I told him if he wanted to do that to use a another so I could save that

vintage looking Blue one with the Thrush Bird decal I put on it.

Guess what...., he put the Old Blue valve cover back on :)

Sick having a new engine with that flaking paint valve cover.

Reminds me of those 1950's gassers, know what I mean ;)

Ver cool 70's touch I must say ;)

Fuel Injectors arrived yesterday thaynx to Steven, "SBlake01"

and they look new as a bell.

OK OK, I know I promissed pictures but neglected to grab my camara sooo.. .

Well anyhow will take plenty of pics when I get her home.

Last thing I need opinion with, should I go ahead and get the

stock brakes from Les Schwab and be happy with those and upgrade later to

Wilwoods when I can afford the bigger wheels tires and LSD?

I mean I haven't driven my baby full force before yet so I don't know how

good the stock brakes really are, well I need to drive safe anyway so

maybe stock brakes are a good idea LOL

More NEWS More NEWS :)

These parts will arrive Friday says MSA ^_^

1~ 4 row radiator, the natural finish aluminum one was sold out :(

2~ Chrome electric fan

3~ 5 injector "Z POLE" connectors

4~ steering rack dust boots, YEA!

5~ K&N cold air intake

6~ shifter bushings to fix the binding in the shifter linkage

7~ Shifter bushing inner dust boot covere, the little round joy stick shaped kind

under the inner shift boot.

8~ Shift cover, the shoe lace styler

9~ Trottle boot for the fire wall

10~ Master Poly Urethane bushing kit, all but the bump stops.

And just bought "1" red 2 1/4 inch inlet and outlet Thrush Glasspack at

the local speed shop, its like a old comic book place for cars :), to replace

the Midas muffler I threw out.

I know I know, a new ANSA set is on it's way ;)

Next on the list is the Lacara MK4 steering wheel discussed else where on

the forums.

One thing I need help on is finding a

TPS, Trottle Position Sensor, 3 prong connector plug.

You know, the plug that goes into the TPS itself and the cover for it.

Tried Courtesy and MSA and both said the only way to get that plug is

to buy a whole new wireing harness or take off another Z as the plug

by itself and cover is NLA or just not sold .

If any one has a spare of any of these please let me know and I can

send Paypal as well.

My number is 530-701-1244 since I'll be on a

train trip for the next three days.

Now I almost sprung for the short throw shifter kit cause it comes with

everthing to replace all the shift rods and related stuff but heard it was

more stiffer than stock and felt I only need new bushings to fix the

shifter binding issues.

Any opinions on weather I need more than shifter bushings for this problem?

Get the short throw?

Any help apreciated and thyanx again to all so far for your help these last

XXXXXX amount of years LOL

I think I can help you there. If your connector is still there but just damaged I have replacements that can be soldered on. There from either a Volvo, Mercedes, or BMW I forget which. They have the quick release spring clip, the boot and can be easily soldered on. If you don't see this I'll call you.

I think it's the 710 cap..

No, that would be this:)......

Anyone has a good spare TPS sensor? And also a cover for the 5 sided red and green wire terminal located on the inner fender wall between the AFM and starter coil? Both for a 77 Z. Call me up at 530 701 1244 if you do, 4 can do paypal.
