Choke question re: triple Webers

Featured Replies

Does anybody out there know of a way to rig the chokes on a triple Weber setup so that they operate with the lever on the console like the stock carbs?

I used his picture to show another...

You really shouldn't need chokes in California.. unless you go to the tops of the mountains...

I've got triples on my '71 here in Fla.; I pulled the choke mechs and made some block-off plates. Warm weather=don't need them

I did a similar thing on mine. I ran one of the 2 choke cable thru all the holes, clamped the cable on the #3 carb and all 3 choke clamps onto the choke cable. The second choke cable is tucked over by the brake lines area under the master cylinder.

I had triples here in CO. I used the 2 choke cables to control the 2 rear carbs, and then clamped a stiff wire/cable to the middle and extended it to the front. But in actual use, even during the winter it fired right up after a few pumps even at 20 degrees. Webers are just about always going to be rich, so the choke isn't really needed. If you find you do need them, I'd be curious if you were running lean on the idle circuit.

As said above, no point in running chokes in Paso Robles. Just use the accelerator pumps.
