hello every one. i am brand new to this website and am very excited about all the knowledge here about skylines. Anyways i just pulled my engine and trany out of my skyline and didnt realize that the oil pan is backwards compared to the l28 untill i had it in the both of them out. anyways is there anyone here who has done this swap? will there be enough clearance between the oil pan and the steering linkage?? or do i need to use the l20a pan and relocate the oil pickup??

thanks

Schwiplarkin

when I bought my 1976 240k,the previous owner told me he but an L28

machine ( from datsun cedric 330 ) and what he did for the oil pump as a solution he cutted it and extended it with a piece of pipe and he returned

back the oil pan of the original 240K machine ( the L24 ),cos you

can't but the L28 oil pan, no clearance !!! that is what he told me .....

Schwiplarkin, we were sold the C110 Skyline in Australia as the "Datsun 240K". They were export cars equipped with the L24 engine. I do not think any country except the home country (Japan) got the L20 engine. By domestic I just meant that it was originally built for the home market (Japan) - ie JDM like Kent said.

Is this the case? Where are you located?

The reason he asks if he should use the L20A oil pan (Instead of the L24) is because he's in the USA and the car is a JDM C110 fitted with a L20A.

Its the white C110 GT-R look alike that was on Ebay.com a couple of months ago.

I think you could use the L20A pan and oil pickup on the L28, but i'd be guessing.

As for moving dipsticks. no idea.
