New Hood Question, Oem.

Featured Replies

I called my local Nissan dealer, and they priced me a hood for $298. Seemed like a good price (anybody disagree?) They asked the production date, whether it was b4 or after Aug. 73. Mine is May of 73. They said that one was no longer available. What, if any, is the difference in the two hoods? Thanks in advance.

According to the black dragon auto catalog, there isn't a difference. The Nissan price was better though.

Black Dragon sells repro body parts. So for their repro hood, there probably is no difference. But if the dealer says there was a difference in the factory parts, I'm sure that there was. I'd bet it isn't major, though. Probably something like how the support rod works, or something like that.

I Am Hoping The Difference Isnt Major, I Am Thinking I May Take The Chance. Oem For Less Than 300 Bucks Seems Too Good To Be True Though.

Since a 280 hood swap to a 240 is common I don't see that there would be a mounting issue.
