My First Z

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I've been lurking around here for about a year now, enjoying the heck out of the information and banter. Since I recently picked up my first Z, I thought it would be a good time to say hello.

I purchased a Z after looking into a replacement for my daily. An 88 Honda Accord is the unflavored oatmeal of the automotive world: It gets the job done without style or inspiration. So, I added reasonable fuel economy to the list of requirements and ended up making a choice I couldn't be happier with! She is a '71 from Arizona. With the exception of a paint job and some non-stock interior work, she's unmolested and original (obvious repair items aside).

The Z is a new experience for me. Previously, my vehicle preferences have been for American muscle cars and '78/'79 Ford Broncos. They have usually been big blocks (6.6liter or 7.3liter V8s) and a stark contrast to a nimble 240. The people who know me from assocations with the other vehicles might be suprised to hear that I absolutely love driving the Z. I sure that doesn't come as a suprise to anyone here.

I'm going to be harassing the group with questions shortly. I'm hoping to not come off as too much the newbie. If I do, please don't hesitate to set me straight!

Regards,

Ray

Welcome aboard! One word of advise.....learn to use the search function, it will save you from being bombarded by member comments to the fact. Z car love is actually a very contagious disease that few ever recover from. Throughing money at it helps however! Lots of good info to be had here and the members are pretty sharp too. Enjoy

welcome, harass away!!

if noone knows the answers, you'll at least be pointed to someone who might.

Ray a big wilcome to the club . I am , in a way, sorry that you now have the virus that there is no cure for. LOL It sounds like you have found a great car and appriciate what you have . I have been infected since '70 , however because of priorities , children , the Z car was not in the mix of my life untill 2000 . Now being owned by a '73 240 the suffering is gone when ,weather permitting I take her out for a breath of fresh air . LOL I would tell you to enjoy the ride , but you are already doing so . Again welcome , Gary Will you are right about Bill his sharpness is only due to the rusty edges on his Z . LOL

ROFLBill,

Didn't we tell you the breats and thights were supposed to give you "the hard time":stupid:?

Will
