As I was out driving my Z today I figured it might be nice to have a little poll to find out how and when others drive theirs. I fall into the nice weekend afternoon category but occasionally drive it to work or to the local car club.

Maybe someday it will actually be drivable. Hopefully sometime this summer.

The Mrs. made me take out a new years resolution that the Zed will be finished by next Christmas ( I can't write what I'll get if I do..hehehehe...oh yeah!)....hmmm let's see....11.5 months to go....why am I typing this then I hear her say........

it will soon be a daily driver till i get the engine, tranny, floors, seats.....etc u get my drift

There isn't a catagory in the poll for the way I use my Z. I drive it on Wednesday to take my wife to lunch, I take it to an occaisional car show like MSA but I take the others (the 320 or the 810) to the other Datsun shows, or once in a while I drive it to go visiting on the weekends. Never in bad weather.

Can't vote either.

X- Every other month, I trailer it to the track and drive it like I stole it!

One for nice days and on to work on. Maybe it will be two running soon!

I specifically allowed multiple choices on this one so if you have multiple cars or match multiple categories pick all that apply or at least the closest that apply. I wasn't thinking about people who race but that could certainly fit the category of alternating with another vehicle.

I drive mine on nice weather days; either to school, work, or wherever. I'd like to drive it more, but playing musical cars with my daily driver and the Z sucks. I'll usually have a week where I'll just drive the Z, and then maybe 3 weeks(or more in the winter) where it sits. I always make sure to start it every week, though.

I have been driving mine alot more lately. I try to get her out as much as possible cause when it's finished it will end up a Show car I think and I'll be driving something else daily.

While she has imperfect paint I don't mind taking her out even in the rain.

However it's more the wear and tear I hate.

I didn't notice the multiple reply possibility. My 280Z will sit in the garage all winter while I drive the Camry :disappoin . Then, the other 8 or 9 months, it will be my daily driver, except on really bad weather days, or when I need to take a couple kids to school on my way to work. So I picked "alternate". However, I should have also picked "still working on it" for my 240Z project, which will undoubtedly not see the road for a couple/few more years....
