Sound (again)

Featured Replies

Well, I finally got myself a stereo for my Z, and I think it's a nice deal for $270 US.

Thought I'd share it with you in case anyone is interested...

Nice work :)

What's the story with the boxes? Do they somehow let you into the cubby holes they sit on top of?

Good idea to put the speakers there, as the ones in my car are right at the back and you can't hear them when you are going on a trip and the hatch is full of gear. :P

Yeah, well I specified exactly how I wanted them to be put in - with a screw going through the wheel well holding the boxes in place, and the guys who installed all teh wiring and stuff did it very well except for one detail - they screwed the screw in so that the head was on the inside of the box.

I wanted it so the head of the screw was just behind the rear wheels on teh outside, so I could quickly unscrew it if I needed to reach my tools (which are now trapped inside the little storage bins)

So yeah, now I will have to somehow get the screws off, and put some new ones in with the heads not inside the box ;)

Hey A-Dog,

If you want to add some extra bass, I put a bass tube into my Z. It has great sound and in the event I need the room in the back I can just take it out. If you need more info let me know....

Also,I put a changer in the glove box. (or whatever you call it.) My father called it a Jockey box and I NEVER figured that out. It also makes it fun to run people off the road as you lean over to the passenger side to change your CD's.

Just kidding.LOL

Disk Jockey he might have meant...

They sound fine. What is this bass tube I hear of though ?!

Are we talking about Bazookas..? They are available in 10 and 12 inches sizes and even offer an amplified version..I'm not sure of the specs though//

Ak

my friend built a wood cover for the spare-tire well and put a sub (not sure how big) in the well pointing upwards...it sounded killer. he also lined the well with some thick, carpet-like stuff so it didnt have a metallic sound to it. pretty nice but alot of work...but those bass tubes are pretty sweet also

Dam, alpha-dog nearly makes me cry! Hes not much older than me, and has his own Z, with SOUNDS!!

I hate this stupid country I live in, suposedly theres only 50 working Zs here. Im never gonna get one..

ahwell.... (rant in the middle of another post; over)

No way dude. Where you can get a '94 Prelude for $6000 and a bloody Skyline for not much more, if I were living over there I'd be laughin' !!!

Yea, but the thing is, i don't want a Skyline or Prelude, I want a Z. I must sound like a wineing child. haha. Still 50 is nothing

hey that looks really good, the guy i bought my Z off of decided he wanted to put a cd player in there, and for some reason felt he needed to snap the silver lining that goes around the heater controls and all that. he then made something of his own to put around it, and tried to melt it onto the heater controls. what a mess, luckily there are quite a few pick'n'pulls around me loaded with Z's. did you have to modify anything on your panel to get it in there?
