What good does this do? Wouldn't the zinc plating wear off the first time you drive the car? Is it worth having or not really?

I don't see how zinc plating would stand up to the high temps for very long...

Might be OK on a show car that never gets driven though.....:stupid:

It would seem to me, that the plating on a rotor is intended to prevent rust from forming on the non pad contact areas....nothing more than an appearance think. Wouldn't you all agree? But, like 2ManyZs mentions, how long will the plating last when subjected to the heat of heavy braking?
