I am in the market to purchase a 240Z...can anyone suggest which year I should look for? Is there any year that was better? It appears that rust is the major issue regarding these cars. Any suggestions would be appreciated...and if anyone knows of a good solid 240Z close to Vancouver, Canada area, please let me know. Thanks a bunch!!

My girl was a 73 240Z ... replaced engine with '72 (block, carbs, etc...for obvious reasons). Interior rebuilt. Absolute stock except for Ferrari vertical stack tailpipes and headers. Worked with a Z specialist in Eustis, Fl. to get her roadworthy. Had to trade her to go to college. Metal-flake Brown on Brown paint (original Lime green oversprayed). She was my baby. Serious case of Z-fever. Would like to get her back home. Limited $$, but willing to negotiate. Have you seen her? If so, I would like to talk. I'm looking at a '72 240z, one owner, 173,000 miles (engine rebuild at 90,000). The interior and floor is excellent, paint is fair (silver). Rust on top of right fender (starting to bubble), Rust around rear wheel wells and the rear corners of the rocker panels are rusting through. Dual carb set-up, no tranny work ever done. Is $1700 a fair price? Any info. or opinions greatly appreciated. thanks.

I know you guys are probably the most experienced Z people on this site, so I turn to you. I recently rebuilt (using all new parts) a '81 L28. I took off all the fuel injection parts and added dual SU carbs from Z therapy. I used the 280ZX electronic distributor and coil, and added Motorsports 6 into 1 headers going into straight 2" pipe all the way back. The car runs, but not well. It will not rev above 3000 rpm, unless I take off the air filter, then it will go to about 4000 rpm. It has no power (0 to 60mph takes about 2 min). The plugs look very black, and kinda wet, wetter back towards 5 and 6 cyl. It almost looks like oil or gas mixed with oil on the rim where the sp…
